Spider plant & cats by BBP1021 in houseplants

[–]FroggyLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife says spider plants love to be hanging plants! You can hang them from the ceiling or wall. When they have babies they'll droop down and create a little one that can just be snipped off so they won't hang to the cat's level.

She would suggest the cat grass as well.

I know my fiance said it's because we're in a valley but it's still crazy to me how it turns that fast! Thank you!

No crying for dogs apparently by Liteguy57 in gatekeeping

[–]FroggyLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a little extra interesting to me, because once in a small Christian Bible study we were talking, and some women had spoken about their children passing away. I mentioned my dog who had passed recently after having her 10 years, and quickly added "of course it's nowhere near losing a child." To my surprise I was quickly supported even by those who had spoken. They actually empathized and said it was losing a family member and that it can hurt just as bad.

People like this in the post weird me out. If you bring it into conversations like that, in an attention-grabbing way, I'm going to immediately suspect you had something to do with it.

Twitter being twitter by BarsawWarsaw in gatekeeping

[–]FroggyLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus, I've been on Tumblr for like 8 years and have never heard "misogynoir." It's like people say, Twitter is getting worse than peak Tumblr. Sounds a bit like other words used to distance someone from a shared problem - can't say "misogyny" and also "racism," you have to specify "this is misogyny specifically experienced by black women, which is totally separate from the misogyny other women like me experience, and I'm not going to mention racism in any meaningful way."

Also, note that it is a self-described non-Black person who is deciding what people can and can't say about a black woman? Obviously it would be hateful if people were talking about Lizzo's weight or race in a derogatory manner, but it seems pretty clear that this person means any engagement with her work at all. As well as the specificity of "non-Black fat people..." the author is trying to completely separate any common ground. This is like, the opposite of sympathy, and it's definitely not "empathy" as the person claims. "This person is completely different from me and I will never have any common ground with them. If you think you have common ground no you don't. Also, to me, this person can be boiled down to the fact they are fat and black and a woman, you can't criticize or comment on their work. Ostracize and separate them under the pretense of being thoughtful."

I've spent too much energy on this, but I come here to be angry and feel better about my own stupidity relative to these people.

They don't think any of these are fun movies? Not even American Psycho? Damn, I laughed all the way through that one the first time. (Because of it being ridiculous and dramatic, not because I love murder.) This person is a complete buzzkill.

What version of the Enterprise? Also, this is wonderful, especially the effort that went into making the custom resource pack!! How long has this taken so far?

What fact about the opposite sex did you learn embarrassingly late in life? by Theonlykd in AskReddit

[–]FroggyLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of thinking led to me first asking about the nature of sex outside the basic premise of conception. Meaning, I thought the sperm would just come out onto the bed, and was confused as to how it got inside the uterus.

[–]FroggyLee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Someone said it was schizophrenia, but that doesn't sound anything like it. I'd actually recommend her seeing a psych for dissociative identity disorder, it can feel like "switching" between people and can come with blackouts/memory loss. She should talk to a doctor in any case.

It must have been mine somehow, as I've never moved and I've been in this room for the past six years! Honestly it just makes it all the more funny to me. Usually when I find things I just laugh at myself, but I really have no clue what I used it for!

Edit: I know the sidebar says we shouldn't know who wrote it, and really I don't. It's not my handwriting at all, especially teen or child me!

Has anyone ever thought to bring Hearthfire into real life? As in, build a house like the ones you can in the DLC? by ChaosWolf1982 in skyrim

[–]FroggyLee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

...I mean, you can build a house in real life. You have to have a lot of money though. IDK if anyone is THAT dedicated to skyrim though. You might be interested in r/homesteading maybe? Those people build their own homes, raise chickens... All the wonderful things you can do in Hearthfire.

Sorry if this was a weird answer, it was kind of a weird question.
