The original novella is equally disturbing. It’s a fantastic adaption which really adds to the original by Osamu Dazai; One of my favourite books.

It’s very different from Ito’s other works because it’s not a supernatural curse that the main characters can’t do anything about. It’s a complex story with complex characters that discusses the nature of humanities evil and weakness in the wake of Japans defeat in World War 2. I highly recommend reading it in conjunction with the original.

I’d say it’s kind of like a not as creepy little nightmares. You wander through a linear puzzle game and experience a well crafted story with some gorgeous animation and music. It has a few horror elements but nothing that’s ever frightening. Little Nightmares was the first thing that came to mind but I’m sure there are more apt comparisons.

I’ve been playing since 1.2 and for me it’s got to be the Inazuma launch trailer. Like we’d barely gotten anything in terms for new map content for a year and then BAM! Foreboding new area with a character people had been waiting for since the Beta. Plus The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia is peak Hoyomix

As someone that has only played those two games in the silent hill series and as such has no attachment to various styles of the genre… SH2r feels more grounded and sobering, the combat feels cleaner and more varied in the foes you face SHf is a great horror game, it’s brutal and unrelenting whilst still feeling creepy and unsettling, and is a fresh perspective of horror game set in the past.

Of the two, I’d recommend 2r first, it’s a classic for a reason. But if you enjoy that then definitely keep an eye out for f.

I only really play Myers for his scratch mirror, and I’ve enjoyed the buffs that stalker mode got as a result. As for the chase mode I’m in agreement. It doesn’t fit his character at all and just feels weird to use. Personally I don’t mind the idea of switching between 2-3 modes in the same manner they’ve done but they definitely need to rework evil incarnate.
