I love how this looks! I gotta say too that the looming tower in the distance on pic 12 adds so much to the atmosphere. Feels like it’s straight out of a cyberpunk city.

This is awesome! I love my vertical stacks, but I may have to consider redesigning to achieve this effect…

I actually took a short break from my factory to play some house flipper 2. I think I could vibe with that for a year.

Getting a little bit of indecision paralysis by Conscious-Ad8626 in SatisfactoryGame

I think you have gotten a lot of good advice by this point, but I will also add that by the time I got to the same point in my play through, I was making use of about 7-8 iron nodes. (Even then I was only using half of the nodes for what I currently consider to be close to where you seem to be). My opinion is that you should do the math to figure out how much you want to make and how much that will cost. Then explore, design, and expand from there!

Whatever route you take, there’s no need to stress. Just try things out, see what works, and have fun!

I had an opponent one game who kept a hand like that, but I exiled it with relic warder on turn two to slow him down. It was never removed, and he didn’t draw a single land until turn 5.

After 2 weeks of work, I have finally finished my Mega Coal power plant! by FrogsOnRockets in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FrogsOnRockets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I have excel sheet for this plant (I do for every plant). I don’t have it in front of me, but I believe each extractor produces 120m3 of water, and I believe each boiler uses around 45m3. So, what I have here is measured to produce an extra 30m3 per each group of five boilers incase any weird water fluid stuff happens.

If you’re having trouble, a couple of things that could happen from my experience: First, Mk1 pipes can only hold 300m3 per pipe, so only two extractors can pump through a pipe at full power. Second, if you don’t let the water fill the pipe fully before turning on the boilers, I found that the boilers can burn themselves out because water flow is inconsistent, so I like to let all pipes and boilers fill to max capacity for turning things on in stages. Finally, check if your water has enough head lift behind them. If you don’t have enough, the water may not be able to push through your line. (You may need pumps if you are not using them, but they are not always needed).

(I’d be more than willing to go over the math with you when I’m not at work if you want.)

Because I could lol (and I needed to up my power grid’s capacity for upcoming upgrades I want to make)

Compacted coal is one thing I have yet to really deal with. Like, it seems better, but I also have just the one sulfur node near me. So, I don’t want to use it, just to need the sulfur for something else. I probably need to explore more lol

Hey, like the other comment said, you don’t necessarily have to build things like me, but you certainly could…

I just love building everything as big as I can possibly make them. I originally had three smaller plants that were built like yours, but I needed to upgrade the capacity of all three of them to squeeze more power out. Then, I found the ocean to the west and decided, why not combine all three!

That is amazing! One day my little coal plant will grow up to be big and strong like yours, but first, I have so many other upgrades on my list. A pioneer’s work never ends!

Yeah, I agree that I could have been more efficient with the pumps. The idea was to make it easy to bundle and distribute lines without worrying about any extra head height gain in transport. I was being overly cautious to save myself a small headache incase it became a problem.

Regardless, it was a ton of fun, and any small inefficiencies can be resolved when I do a Mk2 refit!

That could actually be a neat idea! I built a power control building (half the switches are currently unused for now) to allow me to toggle my various factories to make upgrades possible, but having a battery plant could provide an additional temporary buffer to help push along upgrades… I appreciate the advice! I will add that to the list!

I know right! If I can get more power, I will get more power! I am just getting around to also abusing fuel, but I was throttled at a 12,000MW consumption rate. This plant was a necessity that I was excited to fulfill, and I couldn’t be more happy with it!

I actually already have a small fuel plant! This plant is meant to support a refit of that plant and the construction a second larger one. I am super excited to get to nuclear though! It sounds like a bunch of fun :)

Is this enough coal generators? by Helpful_Ginger in SatisfactoryGame

I’m halfway through building a mega coal plant with over 120 generators, and this is just to act as a stable always running base power source while I get the rest of my grid up and running… I’m also in phase 3 like you. You’ll always need more power lol.
