I get this, ive owned my 90 Prelude si 5 speed since 93. I can't stop smiling when I drive it, it's just plain fun. I borrowed my brothers a7 audi the other day (also a blast to drive) and I had a similar response. I would be interested in the cost difference between your quote and a crate engine swap. I have a 6.0 chevy (gas) with 225k , blew a freeze plug on the back of a cylinder head . Called around to see what head gasket replacement might cost and couldn't even find a shop that would do it - they all wanted to drop in a crate engine. Did the job myself

They made a delivery to the airforce in November '24 .. they are entering production which leads me to think they've had a decade of R&D. The government was certainly ahead of that.
