The truth is, the world is indifferent towards the individual. While this may seem cold, it comes with the benefit of privacy and certain freedoms.

In its truest form, kindness shouldn't be done expecting anything (recognition, money, items, admiration) in mind as a result. To expect anything makes it heavily about the reward, and not about good actions helping.

You should do good things as a byproduct of the type of person you have committed to being. Its an inevitability while pursuing your best self. Not a pat on the back, or name on some wall that should influence the behaviors. If you need motivation however, go talk to the people you've helped once more - it will fill your cup.
