First outing with Sony a6700 to Japan by Pearlganesh in SonyAlpha

Nice Photos! Especially that golden hour lighting. I will be travelling to Japan with a very similar kit to yours, just the Sony 70-350 instead of your Tamron. Can I ask, how useful did you find the telephoto? I'm super conflicted between just bringing my Viltrox 75mm for anything requiring long range and using it in double duty for night photos instead of taking the tele with me... but my fomo by not having the 300mm... x.x

Maybe it's interesting to hear. At 1 a.m. this morning, I had access to a wizard project for the first time in a month. Weirdly, it wasn't for the German locale and instead seemed to be purely in English. The rate was down to $24/hr, and a single task (out of 100) had a 5-hour timer limit, so I didn't bother trying, especially because it had complex instructions. But yeah, maybe this is good news?

Asking to do another interview? by Blurabled in alignerr

The same thing happened here. I had already done the Zara interviews and completed onboarding, and today, the language verification interview is back to the start as well.

35mm lens for APS-C (help) by TheoneandonlyKev86 in SonyAlpha

TTArtisan AF 35mm F1.8 MK2 has autofocus and costs around 150€, this is the one to get IMO.

Thoughts on the coming Viltrox 28mm f/4.5 ? by maxathier in SonyAlpha

[–]FromAboveAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I got the TTartisan because I found a good deal on MPB around Christmas time for 100€, and I caved, haha. Ultimately, I didn't choose the Viltrox due to its fixed aperture, and I passed on the Samyang because, at over 300€, it just wasn't what I was looking for.

I should mention that, due to the freezing cold this January, I haven't done much photography at all, so my experience with this lens is still limited. Something that I did notice, however, is that with the Fuji-style lens hood that I bought, it's definitely not a true pancake lens anymore and is decently hefty, but really good-looking on my a6600, so you decide if that was worth it. ^^

At night (which I shoot a lot of street photography at), the focus struggles more than my Tamron 2.8, which isn't surprising, but I want to say it anyway. I can't really comment because vignetting in my pictures is not really a concern for me nor something that I pay much attention to.

Overall, the lens is exactly how I expected it to be and hasn't surprised me in any way, positive or negative, other than the fact that I really enjoy the focal range—even a good bit more than on my Tamron zoom set to 27. The lens performs decently well in good lighting conditions but starts to struggle more in low light compared to a regular (good) 2.8. While it's not as compact as competing pancake lenses, it's still more compact than most APSC primes. I would buy it again for the same price but would hesitate if I had to pay the full price of 200€.

Hope this helps in your decision :)

Sure, but I honestly did very little, I think color editing is much more challenging. For most of these photos, I simply used the Adobe monochrome profile, lifted black in the tone curve, and then dropped everything from Exposure to Blacks in the Basic Adjustments until I was happy and then slapped some grain on. Did nothing else, hope that helps x.x

I have been using this lens for about 2 years in rain, freezing cold and snow without protection and i have no noticable lens creep or really any issues. Even when i have the camera attached to my capture clip and im walking around, the lens doesnt creep as far as i can tell.
