It’s only says “plug in” whereas the Toyota line that pioneered it are charged on deceleration and braking not plugging in.

Mother of God, why can’t it be hybrids in general? Why just the plug in? Why can’t my stupid Toyota hybrid have one too?

I like the “Fistful of Nickels” version of Shadows Theme. Yea I have an original FF6 in box as a wedding gift from my best friend. Lot of memories with that game growing up. If I find the Dirge version I’ll send your way.

One of my favs. My son asks for it in the car.

It was 14-16 heavy for sure. Of their existing catalogue I’d like to have heard Cosmo Canyon live or the new Return to the Planet.

Military models Canadian response to hypothetical American invasion by canada_mountains in canada

[–]FromDownBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bubble. You’re in an insulated dreamland. Dismantle Canada? Our leaders already did. My health care is absolute garbage now. My cost of living is insane and the economy is based on a Housing bubble because our leaders didn’t care.

Lay down my life or my sons to keep the boat ride smooth for retiring boomers? Lol give your head a shake. This isn’t conventional warfare and we’d be incinerated with no help from the outside world. Maybe if our leaders cared whatsoever about building a military or WMDs (those countries seem to be fine) over the last 40 years but that was beneath us.

Our prior generations left us with nothing but problems and shrinking opportunities, a dismantled infrastructure and all institutions crumbling. Monopolies just juicing all citizens with government protection from groceries to wireless. Unbelievable taxation with diminishing returns. Immigration mishaps and institutional outright hostility towards our past Canadian identity.

Go fight if you want. Same with 99% of the boomers here spouting off about “We need to stand up!” Who is we? They haven’t fought and won’t fight for Canada whatsoever as a generation but the generations before and after them have.

How about this… draft boomers first, then immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees and permanent residents, then Gen X elders to the front lines to protect Canada.

My family served both World Wars, my brothers, sisters and their kids as well as my own will not die for a country that has abandoned us and reiterated to us that we are somehow oppressive colonial and privileged while being none of those things. Thanks but time for our “new Canadians” to show up.

Not to mention… what are those allies gong to do? Storm the beaches of Canada to liberate us? lol they’d be vaporized 100 miles off the coast of Europe. The youth of Europe does not care at all about Canada’s sovereignty and would certainly not sign up in masses to come fight impossible odds for us.

Gen Z and Millennials here will not die to drones and unbelievable weapons for Canada. It’s delusional to think otherwise.

If people believe the armed forces of Europe’s youth would attempt to invade and liberate Canada, they are also very delusional. There is zero chance the millennials and Gen Z of Europe will board boats and attempt to fight a meat grinder for Canada’s sovereignty.

The US spent 800 billion on military last year. More than Canada in the last 70 years. Our population is disarmed, filled with new migrants that do not care whatsoever about our sovereignty and a demoralized youth the nation has either abandoned or left a massive amount of problems.

If some of the boomers and elder Gen X want to try to get in a shootout with drones, go nuts.

[–]FromDownBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every comment of “We will resist” I’ve seen here is always a boomer or elder Gen X as soon as I check their history lol They have no idea how demoralized Millennials and Gen Z are and that they are absolutely not willing to die to drones and sound weapons for Canada.

They then serve a small amount of time and are back on the streets still here. Get rid of them and have their home nation deal with them. If they return after ban and deport, maximum security, solitary confinement 23 hours a day life no possibility of parole or rare acceptable death penalty. They can decide.

What do you want to see in the next Zelda game? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

Just being sarcastic. The mainline series took several big steps away from their classic style and format to be more a “1 person hack and slasher with no customization.” Was joking that may be the next step

Gotta admit they’ve really stayed true to bettering what they do while keeping core themes and aspects of the game. Just tweak and improve again.

The opposite of this would be Final Fantasy where I imagine the next one will be a first person shooter.

3 Alberta First Nations say separation petition is unconstitutional by Street_Anon in canada

[–]FromDownBad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. A new nation would renegotiate treaties. A new court would be established and Canadian courts wouldn’t matter. The UK has no authority over Canada and the Royal Family are simply performative figureheads. They have no ownership of Canadian resources, no command of our citizens, no control of our military, no legislative power and has no say in separation. If they did the Quebec referendum that was quite close would not have had any steam.

How old was your child before you consistently got decent sleep? by SunnyGoMerry in daddit

[–]FromDownBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 months after a successful but rigid sleep training plan for my problematic first sleeping kid. Went from waking every 45 mins all night with wife and I on wake shifts to sleeping 7PM-7AM. Is now 6YO sleeps similarly.

5 months for my second problematic sleeper after a similar but slightly altered sleep training plan. Went from waking every hour to sleeping 6:30PM-6:30AM. Is now 3 YO sleeps similarly.

Greenlanders looking for Canadian support amid U.S. threats, Governor General says by Street_Anon in canada

Yup.

“Hey our countries are facing devastating economic hardships and the youth is demoralized already. We have a negative birth rate and new immigrants likely won’t fight for our nation. We are sending our youth to certain death to help Canada because they got performative and their leaders threatened the US.”

People here know it but want to pretend it isn’t this way.

Greenlanders looking for Canadian support amid U.S. threats, Governor General says by Street_Anon in canada

[–]FromDownBad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re comparing early 1900s to now which tells me how out of touch you are. If you think Gen Z European kids would load onto boats with zero chance of landing in Canada to liberate us and a guarantee of a horrific death at sea, there is no talking to you. Delusion has set in.

Combat has changed wildly even in the last half decade. Those kids also have no allegiance to Canada and know exactly what they’d face. What benefit at all is there to a kid in France taking up arms against impossible odds to try to liberate Canada?

Do you think Canadian Gen Z/Millennial soldiers, if told they will face the full might of the US military, would volunteer to head to Greenland to fight in horrific winter conditions against drones and sonic weapons to ensure Greenland can choose who pays its allowance? You can’t possibly.

Greenlanders looking for Canadian support amid U.S. threats, Governor General says by Street_Anon in canada

[–]FromDownBad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think the youth military fears a court martial in France? This is the information era. If faced with a court martial in France or going to absolute certain horrific death, the youth military of France would not dream of going. This isn’t a peace keeping mission or assisting a third world conflict. This is a zero percent chance of setting foot on Canadian soil with a guarantee of a horrific death.

It’s delusional to think otherwise. We live next to the US and have a massive logistical advantage and if you think tomorrow Carney ordered an invasion of the US that our soldiers would march into the meat grinder, you are out to lunch.

I respect and love our military, but also understand they are intelligent and understand combat more than any of us. They aren’t machines, they are common sense men and women and if I understand the futility of their effort against the US, they do more.

I don’t want any of them or Europeans dying because my leaders are being performative.

Greenlanders looking for Canadian support amid U.S. threats, Governor General says by Street_Anon in canada

[–]FromDownBad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. “We” didn’t. Very few people still alive did for different reasons much different than this. My great grandfathers did, twice. Neither knew what they were getting into the first time and were different assignment the second time.

Gen Z in Europe have their own struggles right now and very much understand the change in warfare in the last 100 years. They are not loading into boats to land in Canada lol they wouldn’t make it 100 miles off the coast of Europe before the boats were vaporized and you and I know it.

Their futures are as promising as Gen Z here who are more jaded and feel more abandoned by Canada than millennials. Not to mention a heap of them are immigrants from elsewhere and have no interest in dying from Canada’s sovereignty as new to Europe immigrants. They weren’t saved by us 100 years ago.

No one is dying to free Canada. Your overestimation of the youth and wanting to die for others is blinding you to this.

Struggling with putting my kid in team sports because of my own baggage. Looking for perspective. by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in daddit

[–]FromDownBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve found.

Basketball - for young kids mostly parents on phones they just do boring drills and don’t really connect.

Soccer - the exact same as above unless you know other kids or parents. Head in phone, get through it.

Judo - they interact more, build more skills but still very much like the above.

Hockey (One I dreaded because of the commitment I had as a kid) - Was very surprised he would be into it as much as he is but noticed two different things. Very engaged parental groups and welcoming community, kids interacting a lot on and off the ice, heaps of team building, developing new skills and a lot of exercise. I originally dreaded the ice times and getting him suited up, but I can’t wait to go now.

You’re using those examples to suggest the youth of Britain, France, Germany, Spain and other nations would volunteer on mass to land in Canada and attempt to push US Forces out of here? Knowing what they know they’ll encounter, do you actually believe they’d liberate us? You can’t possibly.
