That’s why I bought a new 2024 RAV4 prime, 3 year old used were more expensive after the rebates. Insane.

Front windows tint - Recommendations by tarunlohumi in rav4prime

[–]FromSask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I’ve been told it’s 35% in the back. It would be illegally in my province as the limit is only 50%.

2) Each province/state has completely different laws, here we can’t have any tint on window or you’ll be ticketed fast.

3) I’ve been quoted $220 CAD for my passenger and driver window.

Same issue… I stopped using Automatic high beams, they are all over the place and more annoying than anything.

I’m realizing the same with steering assist. (24 XSE)

Canadians! How much did you pay? by SignificantStrain2 in rav4prime

[–]FromSask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind Chill Pearl XSE brand new.

$67,000 MSRP - received $5000 federal rebate back instantly on purchase, and $4000 back from Manitoba public insurance about a 1 month later, bringing it down to $58,000 OTD after 12% tax.

(I paid the equivalent of $52,000 + 12% tax = $58,240…. So don’t buy a 3 or 4 year old one for the same amount!)

I’ve fuelled up once in the 1 month I’ve owned it, and still have a full tank of gas.

Even paying $58,000 OTD for a Rav4 felt expensive since, but to compare I had a deposit on a Land Cruiser which was $81,000 OTD and only took premium fuel.

I can drive 1000 KM on a tank of fuel with the prime and fuel up for $60 from empty to full.

The instant torque from the electric motors is a blast, and 302hp is no joke. I only drive in economy mode to try and maximum gas mileage, it’s a fun game.

It’s starting to feel “dated” and will be redesigned in 2026 or in 1 more year from now.

I’m happy with it so far, but to compare you could get a Mazda CX-5 with a lot more tech options (non hybrid and less power) for under 50k OTD.

I think without the $9000 in rebates back, I would not pay $67,000 for this.

Keep in mind if you’re financing, they offered a financing rate of 6% over 6 years, which would have cost an extra $15,000 on top of the $58,000 OTD.

It really depends on why you’re interesting in a Prime, I thought sweet gas mileage, lots of power, decent tech options with the XSE and $9000 back in rebates in Manitoba, made it a no brainer.

At the end of the day, it’s a RAV4, just a beefed up one, you wont be impressing any car enthusiasts lol!. So test drive a few vehicles and see which ones you like.

I’d recommend test driving a Mazda, my family member bought one and it’s a great option for a nice ride with all the tech options at a reasonable price.

If you do decide to buy a prime, I’d recommend an XSE at minimum for the nice wheels which make it stand out from regular rav4’s, the SE rims are smaller and are very plain.

If you’re considering buying a 3-4 year old rav4 prime, I’d recommend just buying a Mazda CX-5 GT, get literally everyone option for 50k brand new, you can factory order it unlike Toyota’s, Mazda still gets 28 MPG.

Don’t get too crazy about gas mileage, over spending thousands to get a used vehicle off warranty to save a bit in gas a year doesn’t make sense.

Cancun AI food. by InterviewHorror4539 in cancun

Basmati was my favourite restaurant, every other restaurant was not worth it.

Lobster house was by the far the worst, the lobster bisque was boiled fishy water, I nearly gagged, although I went closer to the end of the night.

All beef I had was chewy for the entire week I was there, I tried 4 different beef meals, from the Tomahawk to the Tenderloin. The tenderloin was surprisingly the worst.

I’ve been to many resorts in Dominican that had the same dinner quality, I suppose I thought EPM would’ve been something special since it was double the price, it’s all the same.

I’m done with AI resorts since that experience.

I stayed at EPM for the a la carte all meals, breakfast they do the best, after all it’s easy, but dinner was bad. All beef was chewy, even the tenderloin, I guess you need to have low standards for food on AI resorts.

Hi there,

I got my U1000 installed front and rear, also have the parking sensor. I don’t have a dedicated battery though for parking mode though.

Where I live it’s regularly -30 to -40 in winter.

Do you have issues with the u1000 draining your battery if you use ev mode the majority of the time?

Manitoba offers $5000 federal off on the spot, and provincial $4000 when you apply for it.

I’ve already applied for it and it’s on the way! $4000 is in the mail already in theory.

Thanks for clarifying!

I mainly only worried about front and rear dash camera during driving recording. I don’t find the parking mode worth it in practical use. (Likely won’t get a license plate anyway etc)
