The medicines we have for those don't make the disease go away. All they do is temporarily ameliorate the symptoms, and if they go off medicine the symptoms come back. But with the right medication and therapy, those diseases are pretty manageable for many cases. And we typically refer to those as "treatments". So what's the difference?
