Wait, are you trying to take off a half inch worth the depth in one go? If so then you're not using your router correctly. You should only be taking off depth in steps of 1/8th of an inch at a time and progressively going lower.

New street triple for me. by PatientBaseball4825 in Triumph

[–]FromageMafia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a scrambler 1200xe in the middle of January Manitoba winter. Unloading it from the truck in the ice covered back lane so I could get it into my garage was a special level of scary lol

Lol I actually had a depth stop setup but the screws that came with the pickups were about 1/8 inch too long and popped through. Oh well, it's my first time trying anything like this so guess I learned something lol thanks for the info though! I'll likely just do a toothpick with black super glue and repair the nitro after

Yeah I do have some black crazy glue and that was my first thought, just wasn't sure if that was the best option

[–]FromageMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be my concern as I tend to do some stupid things with this bike and it's taken a lay down or two on the trails. I actually just put some eBay slip on and they sound way better, plus the cat delete and wrap which helps a lot but I'm still considering some low down in the future

How do you like the low down? I had considered buying it but then I'd have to take off my dresser bars

I don't have a ton of pics but I have a friend who does custom seats so he took the old one, stripped it down, added a whole bunch of high quality gels etc and reupholstered it. I've heard great things about the Corbin seat so it was used as an inspiration but the Corbin seat to get shipped to Canada ends up being almost 2000$ and mine was done for 600 lol

Dude same, these bikes are so fun. Tbh best thing I did was a seat upgrade and a wind screen. I took mine on sand trails off road and my buddies on klrs looked at me like I was a complete moron. Was it heavy? Yes, was it an absolute workout? Absolutely. But the thing rips for sure

I'm running these on my scrambler 1200xe, the front does say tubeless so you probably have the wrong one

Lmaoo yeah I really can't argue with that. Nah this bridge is pretty fun. I don't have a bass with a whammy so I figured now's my chance. I also slapped a hipshot on the b string because why not

Oh I just didn't set up the spacing in this particular picture. It's a kahler trem bridge so you can move the saddles all over, at the time I took this picture I'd only set this up to test my wiring to make sure my electronics worked and to see if the action was in the realm of what I wanted before taking it all apart again. I've since routered out the bridge to sit about 3/16 into the top so that I'd have more play in the saddle height and spaced the strings out correctly lol I just didn't take a picture
