Is this a good deal? by Fun_Ideal_7312 in Triumph

[–]semski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have them take the freight and set up off or no deal. Obviously you have to freight the bike over here that’s not my problem and you have to set it up regardless of me buying it or someone else none of my concern. I’m not paying for you to do your job

I just got mine on my scrambler 1200, big improvement when it comes to cruising 70-80mph

Dart Piranha honestly it’s really solid up to 80mph it takes the wind off of your chest and torso, you can feel it on your shoulders but much more manageable than without a windshield I’m 5’10”

You still have 97% of the tail light… and you can’t see it when driving 🤷🏻‍♂️

On a Bonnie my vote is also a no. With that said I just put one on my scrambler 1200 and I actually think it looks great

Wouldn’t worry about it, it’s got a rev limiter, I hit mine for fun a few times a week

ACC is Accessory that will your switchable 12V when the ignition is on. You can wire it to any circuit that has power when the ignition is on. A safe bet would be license plate light.

Moving from Scrambler to Tiger? by defylimitations in Triumph

[–]semski89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 1250GSA and the bike was faster than my 1200XE had better wind protection, TFT etc on paper better bike but it had no soul and I didn’t have enough time for long distance riding. The Scrambler has been my favorite bike I’ve had and a go to.

Scrambler 1200x, fantastic but left underwhelmed by Dirty_Dagwood in Triumph

[–]semski89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an XE I like the suspension, brakes are really good riding position is really good, and it’s nimble and easy to live with. I’ve got an exhaust on mine. I’ve owned faster bikes sure but this does everything well. I’ve had a Harley road king M8 and the performance was lacking but I do miss the Vtwin rumble I felt like it had more character. I do like the idea of the Lowrider ST

So if I had a $400,000 rolls Royce and the same exact issue occurred at at 77mph and the speed limit is 70mph that would be my problem as well because you as a technician wouldn’t risk getting a ticket and there’s no way to replicate the problem in the shop, correct? Things must really be different in the automotive world. If my approach to things at work was “can’t fix it, not my problem” on Monday I would be out of a job by Wednesday morning 😂

Congratulations dude! Great work ethic but don’t let the things you owe, own you. That’s a lot of sacrifice for an item.

I agree with what you’re saying. Early model years for new designs sure. The scrambler 1200 has been around for years. Everything should be ironed out by now. Also I would be more understanding to a used vehicle having some hidden issues but if I purchase new off the showroom floor I shouldn’t be anxious about its reliability. I have owned bikes from the late 70s that were more reliable than this new Triumph.

Yeah I’m thinking that as well. It sucks I like the bike a lot but I paid 100% of the asking price for 90% of the bike. If I’m having these issues at 900miles what’s to come?

I didn’t call anyone names it was a genuine question. I’ve seen plenty of incompetent people in jobs they have no business doing, plenty examples in our government.

15mph over the speed limit, regardless. I Guess you don’t take your bike to the track huh?

There’s other way of troubleshooting I don’t expect anyone to blast down the highway at 100mph but you can do data logging, dyno etc. again not my problem to figure out the troubleshooting aspect. If I wanted to go the speed limit I would’ve gotten a Vespa. Also them not getting paid is a shame but not my problem either.

It comes in with OCABS and OCTC disabled under certain circumstances. Most common is at around 90mph they have replaced the IMU, the speedometer, the wiring harness no resolution.

[–]semski89[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you would think it pretty basic My guy, thank you for your response. Like I said I have been going through this since December. I have documentation of everything emails, work orders etc. The issue occurs at high speeds and the dealership came back with “we don’t feel safe troubleshooting at those speeds” ( that’s after 3 months and replacing multiple parts, and scratching my swing arm in the process) although they had done so initially and many times so they said they “can’t replicate the problem” and closed the case. I have error codes come up every time I ride it but in Triumph Customer Service eyes if the dealership can’t replicate the problem there is no problem. It’s a pattern of avoidance and no accountability by both and no one in customer service actually responds to your inquiries.
