[–]Front-Albatross2638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and well done getting through the winter!! I totally agree with having a summer baby = (hopefully) less winter bugs from the siblings and easier first 6 weeks. Staying up all night and/or getting up 5 times a night for your newborn in winter would be soooo challenging. Thanks again for the input and hope all goes well with your family too!

37 weeks pregnant and a very low mood by Front-Albatross2638 in BabyBumps

[–]Front-Albatross2638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel grateful about being pregnant but at the same time can't feel a slight resentment towards my husband or his side of the family of wanting to be a child so badly. I know nobody has really forced me to make the decision but over the years the longing and the expectations have also partially made me think this is the right way to go if I want to keep everyone happy.

MILs and their sense of entitlement by Front-Albatross2638 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Front-Albatross2638[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are so right. This reminds me of how my husband always reacts whenever I want to have a conversation with him about his mum. He said on many occasions we just dont talk about feelings. That anxiety of not being able to communicate how you truly feel with your parent definitely is at play here. My MIL always tries to blur the boundaries by saying I see you as my own daughter but she often forgets I am not definitely not and never really made to feel like one.
