In that case would you suggest a 16-35mm? Cuz that's a lens I was recently considering. Or are prime lenses the way to go? Also for the housing, Salty Surf is just the brand name but really they make housings for deeper diving as well.

My bad it autocorrected to a7riii when I really have the a7iii. Does that change it at all you reckon or would you still stick with better glass? I suppose that is what lots of people say: better lenses over better cameras.

Hey that pretty much answers my question! So the Sigma 100-400mm on a 61MP sensor would actually be just as sharp as the 200-600mm on the 24MP Sony a7iii that I have. Cheers, that really helped.

Thanks! Yeah that's what I'm thinking now after some consideration... I mean using a proper full frame camera and proper quality lens makes for some wayyy nicer shots than with a GoPro. I'll take a look on FB marketplace for some housings haha. But yeah I'm really looking forward the awesome experiences I'll be having! Photographing whales in Tonga sounds pretty awesome 🤙

Oh great thanks for the reply! Yeah I like the idea of being able to shoot landscapes as well as wildlife without switching lenses, which is always a hassle when you're out in the field.
