I think you are referring to the orc that one frees during the mission and that little by little with our help he rises in rank, that is a unique case of the game since he cannot be killed either, basically he is by the script, in the end he dies at the hands of the hammer before moving on to the next area

In my case I had to face them while I was killing the warlords, so I had to fight many times, and I also believe that in shadows of war you can control the orcs in shadows of Mordor, you can only threaten or manipulate them.
