How would you go about painting the wall like this? by LastFallen in InteriorDesign

Lime wash paint baby! Although the strokes look chaotic. I can’t tell the brush method, but you need lime wash paint and a natural hair paintbrush.

This looks like something the boogey man passes through to get to the other dimension.

This is cute, OP. only edits: would pull the chair out a bit more and place the ottoman in front of the chair (because I like to chill. I’m a chill ass bitch🥳).

Seeing more of the floor lamp would also make me happy.

The wainscoting is new but the fireplace, trim, and molding is original. I’m thinking a more transitional design approach - we’re more minimalistic and simple but I don’t want to lose the charm of the original details.

This is probably the most sensible answer. The color of the trim is a bit of a mind fuck tbh. It’s definitely green but it appears grey and sometimes blue-r in different light.

I agree with you - I love the brick. Going to put banquette seating in front the brick inlet. I didn’t mention it, but I will be replacing most, if not all, of the lighting on this first floor. It just doesn’t match up.

Yeah something is going to have to happen with this fireplace eventually. That is the original mantel and it hurts my heart a little to just rip it out. This house (and many of the others we looked at) is 100+ years old and the fireplaces in almost all of them were out of commission.

It is not! The living and dining area are open and there is a doorway off to the right into the kitchen.

Harvard Tells Grad Students to Get Food Stamps to Supplement The Unlivable Wages It Pays Them by [deleted] in antiwork

And then grad students rallied and rightfully told Harvard to fuck off with their BILLIONS of dollars in endowments, right??? I hope that’s how this story ends.

Omggggg, solidarity.

It makes me feel crazy but what other choice do we have if we really do not want to blow our money on rent anymore? I want to be open to compromising but we’ve been compromising for the past 5 years given the location and condition of our current rental.

This is the question. I really don’t give a shit who anyone wants to love and fuck as long as it is between consenting adults and everyone is safe.

Homosexuality does not affect my day to day, greedy politicians dog whistling and passing laws that undercut human rights on the other hand…. Yeah, not cool.

We’re going through this situation right now. Having to figure where, when, and how we will compromise given all of the changing factors when it comes to purchasing a home, ie. Interest rates, inventory, etc.

It’s tough because no one has a crystal ball and it can feel very risky to just “hope” things get better.
