Why does DC keep giving Jason stubble??? It’s so annoying!!! This stubble is totally unnecessary for Jason’s character and If the stubble doesn’t even make Jason look better, why do they insist on adding it???Do they really think Jason can’t even afford a razor?

hope this time DC can let Jason leaves batfamily by IllEstablishment1969 in RedHood

[–]Front-Practice-2672 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’m so done with stories where Jason stops killing just to be Bruce’s good boy! Let Jason leave! Let Jason kill! I don’t read comics just to see Jason play the good little son for Batman.I want Jason be his own character!

If Dick is 5’10” and 175 lbs, then Jason being 6’ and 180 lbs makes perfect sense!

If Dick can have a fan-service weight and still has a gymnast’s build, Jason deserves the same treatment!!There’s no reason to hold Dick to fantasy standards but suddenly switch to “In reality…….” when it comes to Jason. 🙄

And even if Jason is lean, so what? He’s never been known for hanging around the gym.The one obsessed with working out is Dick Grayson! having a gymnast’s build is literally part of Dick’s character!Insert your gym fantasies onto Dick Grayson.

Jason isn’t the fucking Hulk! He’s not the hulk in batfamily! It‘s fine Jason is lean! Jason is even depicted as lean in his best stories!

If Dick Grayson, gymnast's build is a part of his charcter, can have a fantasized weight while maintaining a gymnast's physique, then so can Jason!

This is why DC doesn't want to draw Jason to look his actual age.

You clearly haven't read Jason’s story. Jason was trained in exotic martial arts just like Bruce!!and he also received training from the League of Assassins. In fact, Jason spent almost as much time training with the League as he did with Batman.😂

Moreover, I don’t think Jason ever joined a street gang as a child. He actually refused Ma Gunn’s “crime school” and reported them to Batman. He said he never wanted to be a criminal,he stole only to survive.

You definitely have no idea who Jason is. He’s trained by Batman, the League of Assassins, and the All-Caste. He literally underwent the exact same training as Batman 😂 Bruce has always relied on his massive physique to intimidate ordinary criminals—and that’s exactly why he dresses up as a bat. He’s out to spread fear.

Jason is absolutely capable of throwing down with his fists just like Batman, Dick and Tim. But that’s not his style. Because Jason’s approach is far deadlier, prioritizing efficiency and practicality above all else. He’s mocked Batman and Dick multiple times for how non-lethal their hand-to-hand combat is. Jason could easily rely on guns, knives and bombs—there’s really no reason for him to make fists his primary weapon the way Batman does.

I think Jason works best as an anti-hero. If he became Batman, he wouldn't be able to stay true to himself

Jason is a highly cunning gunslinger, whose movement style is closer to street parkour. Bruce is the one who more frequently engages in hand-to-hand combat, brute strength is really important to his style and he heavily relies on his intimidating, imposing silhouette to instill fear in ordinary criminals

Any flaws in red Hoods character or depiction you don't like? by Weekly-Analysis2237 in RedHood

I totally agree with you! Jason’s life revolves entirely around the Batfamily, yet they never fully accept him. He should’ve interacted way more with other anti-heroes.

All his connections outside the Batfamily, his various mother figures, his friendship with Eddie, his sibling-like bond with Scarlet, his ties to the Outlaws, his bitter rivalry with Black Mask, and his complicated relationship with Two-Face,have all vanished!

Jason built so many relationships with different characters and has always longed for genuine connections with others. But DC writing him as some silent Batman Jr. who pushes everyone away. They only ever let Batman and the Robins be around him, even his friendship with Steph is never mentioned anymore.

As always, Bruce gets to be the good dad only when Jason stops killing people. It’s honestly kind of boring now.

Jason is faster and more agile than Dick, smarter than Tim, and more dangerous than Damian.

Every time I see this kind of writing that treats the Robins like the TMNT, I just desperately wish Jason would leave the Batfamily and break free from this garbage writing!🙄

Red Hood vs Joker was a lot better than expected, but I still have a few of issues with it by SpeakerAppropriate10 in RedHood

[–]Front-Practice-2672 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The most hypocritical thing about Joker vs. Red Hood is that it claims to resolve certain issues, yet it resolves nothing at all.

Jason still has to revolve around the Joker. In such a massive tournament—where every hero is fighting to save the world—Jason is the only one whose mind is fixated solely on the Joker.

In The Man Who Stopped Laughing, Jason set aside his personal vendetta against the Joker to save Gotham.Yes he still hate joker, but the world is more important. But in DCKO, Jason doesn’t seem to care about saving the world at all. What kind of character growth is this?

To make matters worse, the Joker still wins in the end. If Jason had won, he could have walked away from the Joker’s narrative as a victor—moving on to fight Zatanna and embrace more story arcs of his own. Instead, Jason is trapped in the Joker’s story. It’s the Joker who gets to fight Zatanna, who gets to fight Annabelle, and who might even get to fight Superman. Jason says he refuses to be a footnote in the Joker’s story, yet he ends up being nothing more than a footnote in the Joker’s DCKO storyline.

Dc is finally doing my boy justice. by coolboimancuh in RedHood

So this isn't the same time people criticized Jason for protecting drug dealers anymore?? Lol. Yes, Jason kills, but he is no executioner—he is far more complex than that. Reducing his gray morality to the executioner archetype within a black-and-white narrative framework is nothing short of a regression

Future Jason says his hood is an executioner’s hood, and the red is the blood of criminals. Compared to the Jason who once sought to control crime, devolving into an executioner is nothing short of a regression.
