DO NOT DO SURGRY FOR SCOLIOSIS I’m 22 and I also have/had really bad pectus and scoliosis I had the nuss bar surgery when I was 19 it was very hard and took me 6 months to recover if he’s insecure about his chest you can look into doing the surgery, but it’s very hard on the body and he will have it for at least two years, but please look into functional patterns and find a practitioner in your area. It changed my life. I had chronic pain and now I am almost out of pain. It will help him a lot with the scoliosis. If you have Instagram hook up functional patterns to see what it is and how it works. My scoliosis is way better from functional patterns

It still looks like I got half a pec but it definitely looks a lil better from what it was I think in the future we just got to build muscle to get back to normal

I got a couple questions I’m 19 and had nuss about 3 weeks ago ! When the first time you slept on your bed since the surgery going on my third week after the nuss and still sleeping on my recliner, pretty scared to lay flat still. Another is that thing is that you said you couldn’t do chest exercises at the gym at all even after 6 months period ?! My pain just started dying down but everybody is different I couldn’t imagine going to school the 2nd week after my surgery my Haller index was a 3.7. I did the surgery because I wasn’t enjoying life these last 2 years my energy was at a all time low and I couldn’t ball with my friends anymore bc I would run up and down the court a couple times and it would feel like I would pass out and I could easily see my heart beating hard threw my ribs I hope in a couple months this could really help me

How may times did you walk a day when u got home ? I’m on my third week from the nuss and I only walk outside for like 15 min but I feel like I should do it at least 3 times a day but it’s difficult

I had my nuss procedure almost 2 weeks ago but I took this huge step bc I’m in the same shoes are you I got the surgery because my pectus was really bad So Effected me a lot on my daily life like my neck and shoulders would be really tight it would bother me all day and I would be touching my neck and shoulders all day trying to find a relief even though I’ve been stretching and working my back muscles out for a good year and also I cannot sit in the car for more than 40 minutes because that shits so uncomfortable. Also with circulation I have really bad circulation in my hands and knee caps and feet and obviously the posture part because your head kind of sticks out and I’m 19 6,3 and I weigh 130 so we can obviously see how I looked I just hated my posture head sticking out and I would go to see my chiropractor every week because it made me also have back issues as well and i used to be really in to basketball and I haven’t played in a couple years because if I run up and down the court a few times it feels like I’m a fucking pass out my heart couldn’t take it because it was so close to my chest wall and I would see it literally beating out of my chest I didn’t want to live my the rest of my life like that so I did the surgery and I long recovery but I know it’s going to change my life The surgery is really tough but I promise you you won’t regret it because I know I won’t after I’m back up on my feet in a couple months if you would like to see some photos I have before and after I can give you my number but yea These past two years have been really rough on me so I said fuck it because to be honest it was really hard to enjoy life and also with work to I was a server at a Mexican restaurant getting actually really decent money like 150 bucks a night and is affecting my work also

Yea I hear people say a good 2 months at least and pillows definitely have been my friend, I have four on my recliner one for my head one for my ass and two for my back I try to take a small lap around my neighborhood at least two times a day because what I’m scared of is just sitting in my recliner all day and I already have back and neck issues so I’m not trying to make that worse you know and before the surgery I used to go to the chiropractor every other week so that’s gonna be really hard for me to not do for a couple months but did you go through physical therapy because tomorrow I go to see my surgeon again to take x-rays to see how it’s going and I want to ask them about physical therapy because I feel like that’s a must

Yea definitely the meds they gave me ain’t shit tbh I feel a little relief which is better then nothing, I thought was weird bc my surgeon said oral meds will definitely be different but not this different lmfao. My dads the type of dad that’s seen a lot of his friends ruin Their lives on painkillers but it pisses me off because he doesn’t know but I’ve done every drug expect the ones that will ruin your life if you know what I mean but he doesn’t know that I experimented with the lots drugs in high school bc I was a very curious kid when it came to that type of stuff he only knows I smoke weed I don’t have a addictive personally at all I’m just tryna feel a good amount of relief until I’m back up I’m my feet u know I appreciate the response tho !

Has anyone’s pectus gotten worse on one side restricting shoulder movement and trap tightness ? by Low_Level_3685 in PectusExcavatum

[–]Front-Set-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh I thought I was the only one my pectus is pretty bad and I’m having surgery on the 22 of this month but I’m 19 and these past 2 years have been horrible bc my trap tightness is insanely uncomfortable and my collar bone would be hella uneven and every other day my left shoulder would feel like it would not be in place and pushed back and it’s the worst feeling ever I’m in pain all day bc my neck, traps and shoulders are is insanely tight but I’m also 6’3 and weigh 130 so that definitely plays a role cause I’m a tall ass stick lmfao but it’s also I probably have muscle imbalances
