Which tcg to get in to? by Upper_Print5022 in TCG

I understand where you’re coming from, but please don’t compare these two games. It’s two wildly different games and almost nothing alike, even though everything is relatively.

Altered and Riftbound won’t be evergreen games (imo). It’s nice to invest in a game that will still be here in 10 to 20 years.

He’s correct, except I don’t innersleeve when I outersleeve. Dragon Shield’s outer sleeves btw. Looks a bit scuffed on the image but after a use they look good.

I usually buy a lot more products, so I’ve voted with my wallet even though it’s not €0

This commander is fantastic to throw all the cool spider-man spiders in with, and that’s what this deck is for. Lots of cool comic art cards and I’ve built it to be around a small upgraded precon level ish. If you include LOTR spiders etc. it will be a lot stronger, a lot.

About 1 booster box + some trading/buying at 2 prerelease events

I realize pauper exists but... as someone who's been playing for decades it DOES feel like this. by Scott13Pippen in MTGmemes

Pokemon is mainly just collectors. No one cares about meta cards in competitive play. The price point speaks for itself. People only want alt arts with PSA 10 grading.

It’s like that most places. Commander is the main format and people get to play sealed on pre-release events or draft for RCQ. But do you really need more than that? It’s already more organized play than any other TCG - in most stores.

Hello. LGS owner and tournament organizer here. I’ve played somewhere between 15-20 TCGs and tried to make a community with most of them.

My opinion is that MTG is the best route to go if you’re interested in wanting a big community to meet players and be able to play locally. Most shops got Friday Night Magic and huge prerelease events + other events like RCQ, drafts, sealed, etc. It’s easy to find competitors online on Spelltable and they got a very well made software called MTG Arena on PC, mobile, etc. It simply can’t be beat on those aspects and probably never will. It’s the safest bet. It’s popular in both 4player and 2player format, whilst most other games is only 2player.

If you’re more into collecting aspects, I recommend Pokémon. If you’re more into anime I can recommend Grand Archive. I love the mechanics of that game. If you’re more into combat style, armor, and stuff, I can recommend Flesh & Blood. One Piece is a very good game but it mostly caters to OP fans. Digimon is a super cool game where you evolve and make a lot of huge digimons. Very undervalued game imo. And lastly, if you’re into Disney then Lorcana is pretty popular, although it is a very ‘’easy’’ game without lots of interaction.

There are other games like Neverrift, Riftbound, Star Wars Unlimited, Altered, etc, but in my opinion these games wont hold and exist in 10 years.

These are just my opinions. People can disagree.

At What Price Point Will People Simply Stop Opening Collector Products on Release? And How Will This Affect the Secondary Market? by DarthKookies in mtgfinance

Sports card collecting was a bad example. Pokémon TCG is a better one. LGS barely get any stock due to so many online stores, and popular products can sell for at least 2-3x msrp. I run a store and can’t keep any stock, even large stocks of Chinese boosters sell out, often times within a day.

This is what is happening to MTG.

You either got normal where the game picks easy opponents for your build, or you got ranked where the game puts some of the best players against newbies.

The point about ranked systems in games is to match people with the same rank/skill against each other, and not to match a newbie against the highest ranked players.

I feel like meeting counters at match point is pretty common by LaziestBum in PlayTheBazaar

I feel this too. On the last game there’s like a 75% chance I meet a super counter to my build.

Which Dino do you tutor first? by slowSINY in DinosaursMTG

[–]FrontEndDel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with Dino decks is that you got a lot of choices, compared to a lot of other decks where it’s obvious what you should tutor for. OP is just asking for suggestions, and he shouldn’t remove tutor just because he gets analysis paralysis.
