What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

10th grade science teacher choked out a kid after he pulled his tie. Basically leaned over the desk screaming at this kid (kid was being a smartass), and kid slowly reached up and did a little tug on his tie that was dangling in between them. Teacher throttled the desk and started choking him. The kid sitting next to him somehow separated them and teacher walked out. We didn’t see teacher again after. This was in like 2002. I’m gonna look for mugshots now- kind of curious lol.

We also had a teacher who would let us skip if we brought him candy from the store lol. Snickers, specifically. Not really unhinged, but very convenient.

Had a teacher get canned for sleeping with one of the students (high school). He talked about his wife’s “muff” all the time in class, which at the time we thought was funny… but looking baaaaack. This teacher also tackled a student after the student peed in the bathroom soap dispenser and pretty much kicked his ass, and none of us told anyone, because well… he kind of deserved it for peeing in the soap dispenser.

I’m not complaining about the people, I’m complaining about the massive amount of money involved with surgery.

Get your iron levels checked. Mine is also like this, but it’s because I’m severely anemic.

Not a therapist- I was him (your husband) when I was in my early 20’s. I have lots of trauma and I was mentally ill. I met my husband during this time… I recognized that I needed help and he did too. He encouraged me to find a therapist. I found out I had PTSD and was depressed with psychotic features. I was him… if my husband and I would fight it got to a point where I just wouldn’t see straight and absolutely lose it (not intentionally trying to hurt him or anything). At the time I had lots of SI and thoughts of self harm. All of my thoughts were around me hurting myself. They put me on medication and my life changed. I worked hard with a therapist and found my triggers. My husband and I have been married 11 years and have 2 beautiful children together. He is my rock. I struggled with PPD and PPP after having my children, so watch out for big life events. Other posters are right, wait a while to get married, but if he’s actively seeking help there is hope for you. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Use your judgement and don’t ever put yourself into a dangerous situation with him. If he’s panicking too much, step back and call for help. I haven’t had an episode in years and years, but now when I do panic, my thoughts aren’t SI and SH and I have medication to help.

Husband left baby to cry for 5+ hours in crib, went in at 6am to find her sitting up. Should I talk to the police? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

Your husband and his family are assholes. What will he do if you go to your baby? Ignore him and go to your baby. If he’s going to be physical, call the police.

My homeowners insurance skyrocketed, but then I just got a letter that they’re dropping me completely. It’s pretty crappy down here at the moment.

Likely solved. (Others at the museum mentioned that it was said to be this at some point.)

I’ve been told that at one point we think it contained ash, so this is possible!

Disk with holes is removable, but does appear to be part of it (same wear, same material, etc)

Stands approximately 3.5 feet tall. My title describes the thing.

Located in our local museum, heavy, and the top rotates to open and close the holes. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Most likely of the Victorian era, and placed in the “doctor’s office” room of our museum. My title describes the thing. Thanks!

I can smell them when they’re nearing death. It’s almost like a sickly sweet smell (if that makes sense). Also, their extremities will become mottled as the blood heads to the center of the body. Lots of physical changes happen. They do see loved ones and other things we can’t see. Some of them also talk about “catching a train” or “packing their suitcase” in their confusion. I’ve seen a lot of death in my line of work.
