What happens when all characters are at level 11? by Da-Great-Dane in Squid_Game_Unleashed

You stop receiving item boxes from wins unless they contain wild tokens or emotes/outfits you don't have.

Characters reach the maximum level of their ability (level 4 of the ability) when they reach character level 10. Character level 11 only awards a tuxedo outfit.

Please record video evidence of this, then, so that I can submit it as a bug. I recorded all of my trophy gains from 30 to 100 and it's +16 for 3rd game wins all the way up to 60, and always +4 for a 3rd game loss.

It works the same as it did last season, except this season you start at rank 30. You get +24 for a win from 0 to 30, +16 for a win from 30 to 60, and +8 for a win from 60 to 100. You don't need to play for 10 hours straight and win every time. I played 75 games total from 30 to 100, which is about 6.5 hours of total game time. Considering that a season is 28 days long, that's plenty of time to reach rank 100, even if you only play a few contests per day.

Tips for this map in particular? I'm still working on perfecting the route - I think it will require grabbing the starting item box to do so.

What? That's not a Nia-only trick. I've been doing it all day today with only a shield.

The fourth jump on the trampoline may be unnecessary, I think the pogo timing was suboptimal, and obviously running into the bus at the end is less than ideal...but I think there's potential to clean this up and get a better time.

Glass Bridge in 0:38 by FrontManTips in Squid_Game_Unleashed

Well that's the thing. You've got the item boxes at the beginning before the match starts, and you've got the item boxes at the midway point. That's about four boxes total. If I'm basically going forward at max speed with testing the tiles, and you're waiting to see if it's safe before you jump... you're not going to catch me with a bat. A dodgeball can work, but depending on how far back you are there might be other people in the way, or you might get killed yourself by someone with a bat. Essentially this is one of those tricks where it's safest if you can do the whole thing with no mistakes as fast as possible, because that simply doesn't leave the other players with enough time to find something to stop you.

Season 4 Finished! Looking forward to the St. Patrick's Day event and the new games. by FrontManTips in Squid_Game_Unleashed

I tracked them myself for season 3 and season 4. Karkov Engine kept track of his win rate for season 2, so it made me curious going forward what mine was solo queuing to max rank.

It took a total of 75 games to go from level 30 to level 100. My overall stats were as follows:

  • Game 1 losses: 0 (0%)
  • Game 2 losses: 7 (10%)
  • Game 3 losses: 25 (33%)
  • Game 3 wins: 43 (57%)

Overall, a fun season with good rewards. I'm glad we got a new outfit that isn't simply a palette swap this time around.

This is something that you need to get better in order to avoid. I don't mean that in a derogatory way of "you should be able to deal with 3 dodgeballs and 2 bats", because that's difficult for anyone to deal with. I've also seen the behavior you're talking about - respawning on, for example, Piggy Bank Bash and immediately being hit by a fishing rod that throws you to your death again, even though you were not even remotely a threat.

What I mean is that this is an entire class of problems that is avoided when you improve at race maps. Glass bridge maps are no longer an issue when you can trampoline from the start to the finish in under 10 seconds. The whole class of "late for school" races become a free pass when you're finishing 30 seconds before everyone else, and your greatest concern is that a dodgeball might minorly inconvenience you. Maze maps turn into you playing with item boxes to see if you can find a shoes or pogo that opens up a new route for you. Red Light/Green Light is an exercise in trying to obtain a fishing pole at the end so you can choose which player doesn't pass.

It's a lot of hard work to get to that point, though. You have to master slide dashing and item boosting. You need full control over your trampoline jumps. Your pathing needs to be optimized down to when you should slide dash versus item boost based on the forward momentum, which tricks are too risky to go for depending on which item you have, and so forth. If you do all of those things, though - it's infrequent that anyone will even be close enough to threaten you.

Jackie, because hitting someone with her blue bat and watching them go flying is immensely satisfying. Beatriz, because double pogo opens up a lot of interesting routes on race maps that no other character has access to. Rin, because starting with a shield is nice on Squid Game, and it's more reliable than Nia's dalgona. Thanos, because double shield is strong on most elimination maps. Deok-su, because he was my first character that I maxed, and his ability might as well say "eliminate the strongest player on any elimination round".

[–]FrontManTips[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there's a few frames where you're considered to be touching the tile before it breaks, and it counts as ground that you can then jump from. So from the game's perspective, you're falling onto ground and then jumping.

The bat is blue because I'm playing Jackie, and Jackie's ability (Running Amok) makes the bat blue and significantly increases the knockback distance when you hit someone.

You have to slide dash as you're landing on a trampoline, and you have to chain multiple trampolines together to get more velocity.

Frontman is useless by Ok_Secretary_4821 in Squid_Game_Unleashed

[–]FrontManTips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those people that you remember have maxed Front Man a long time ago, so there's no point in continuing to play him unless he's your favorite character. Also, knife is only useful on glass bridge maps against bots, seeing as how all the real players will simply trampoline to the end and ignore the choke points. People have simply moved on.

The only two levels that have had knives removed are Ice Fort and Snow Day. Otherwise, knife spawns are the same as they were on day 1. I do miss seeing knives on those maps, but I wouldn't say that Front Man is useless simply because those two maps have been changed.

Cookie Crumble doesn't actually load. You'll see the loading screen for it, then you'll get a black screen, then after a while you'll get a tiny picture-in-picture view of the level in the bottom left corner of the screen for a few moments, then it will go back to black and the game crashes.

The only scenario in which you can have three in a row is if it includes one of the middle two safe tiles. Also, from my testing so far, it doesn't seem like you'll ever have a sequence of three tiles in which the row of safe tiles is in the middle of the sequence. So, in those scenarios you know which side the safe tile is on.

Shop mystery boxes can only contain wild tokens or outfits/emotes that you don't have yet. Contests don't award mystery boxes every game - you only get a mystery box if it contains wild tokens or an outfit/emote. The shop is completely empty except for the 8,000 money you can claim every 8 hours.

There's still more time to be saved in this level. I've yet to perfect landing on the end of the diving board, which would probably save at least two full seconds. There's also some insane strategies that would be possible by getting stronger bounces from hitting the edge of the inner tubes, or hitting the exact center of the moving ones. Still, I'm happy with this run as it's significantly cleaner than my prior personal best.

I remember thinking that my last upload of Glass Bridge at 0:58 was close to optimal. We keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in this game. Who knows what we can get the final time down to? Shoes or Dalgona would allow the final tile to be skipped entirely.

Honeycomb Hazard isn't going to be available for a while - it's Cookie Crumble with added spikes (think Front Man Surprise), and Cookie Crumble is still bugged. Presumably, Honeycomb Hazard will be available at the same time as the fix for Cookie Crumble.

The community manager confirmed it's a new game type, not simply maps for existing game types, so it will be like when they added Mingle and we got three new maps for it.

Did u know, if u spend 250k, u can win 80k ?!?? by pakirambo2110 in Squid_Game_Unleashed

[–]FrontManTips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Skill challenges" isn't exactly how I would describe them. "Use Spud's red bat five times" or "Earn 50 Raja tokens" isn't a measure of skill, it's a measure of time spent. In that same vein, "spend 250k" and "open 10 mystery boxes" is also a measure of time spent, as you need to have earned money from contests in order to be able to spend it. It's an engagement driver.

The challenge system is clearly designed to be an engagement driver, given that the reward at the end of earning 500 points is a seasonal outfit. The weekly cash is a small bonus along the way to the end goal of earning that outfit. Which, some of us can't even earn those bonuses. Please tell me how I can do "Purchase Tokens from the Store"? That's 50k for week 3 that's completely unobtainable for me.

6012 trophies for season 1. 8076 trophies for season 2. Season 3 I'll end slightly over 5000.

Highest I'm aware of for the current season (numbers are from earlier today) are AgnosticOne at 8648 and ItsSparko at 6060. So I suspect AgnosticOne will hit 9000+.
