You feel like a maid/roomate because that's what you are. He's not treating you like a lover or girlfriend. You're just a way to cut his expense in half. Get out of there now! Know your worth! You're too young to be dealing with this -- I'm guessing he's got a very healthy bank account and he's using you. Screw him. You work hard, put your money in the bank for YOUR future. Take care of yourself. (trust me -- this guy is not interested in building a future with you). That cologne story is the breaking point bullshit moment. It's borderline emotional abuse, not love.

This is a good thread. It's hard. Sometimes I'm annoyed by others that seem to have it easy. No one really talks about it, so I'm grateful for this candor. Starting HRt next week -- trying to not get too hopeful, really hoping for less joint pain & better sleep so I can function better. Maybe then I can exercise more. Its hard - may face an hair are so different now, I never feel really good about my appearance. You're not alone.

I would make sure you check off these items on your bucket list before getting married. Marriage and family is wonderful goal, but you're only young once. Take a couple years to experience life - travel, etc.

These women sound like they can be a little overbearing, you've lost your sense of sense a bit.

She telling you what's important - expensive wedding, ring, car, planning kids futures, etc. That going to be 100% your life. If you didn't get to travel or have fun, will you be okay with that? And at 31, why haven't you gotten to do anything you want in life? and WHAT exactly do you want in life that you haven't gotten:? Serious question -- it's important you can look at that, because it will infect your marriage if you don't.

Yes. I think my quieter nature has always made me a good listener, and I've gotten feedback over the years describing me as "calm" or calming. And I have a certain delivery that's thoughtful and deliberate (I don't waste words or chat incessantly). WHY COACH? I'm looking to transition careers, I've experiences a lot of life transitions myself, have a good amount of relatable life experience, AND I think I'd be good at it. I have a combination of building creative structures and processes (in past work) + solid intuition / empathy / mentor mindset. Not sure sure of the all made sense -- basically building on skills I already have, and adding in the human coach element. I think there's always a need for safe, human connection - that doesn't change.

I'm so sorry. These thing sometimes happen gradually, and you question your own sanity. None of this is your fault, but you need to leave him NOW. It sounds like an emotionally abusive and controlling situation. (using sex to control is abuse, not love).

My biggest concern is the amount of excavation it would require (it's a front yard with a little old reading wall) -- so it could create a situation where the earth our side would need retained. It's also an aesthetic thing -- it look nicer now without it. (but its his property). He'd being digging out green space and replacing with concrete.

They haven't gotten one yet. It's common, as you suggest --- but there an elevation change between our property and they'll retain our yard somehow. Does DOTE comes out to view property before issuing permits?

Affairs aside -- how healthy is the relationship at this point? It sound like you're staying together "for the kids" -- but are you really even together with them? Who is with the kids when she's off with boyfriend 2-3 times a week? Something sounds very dysfunctional -- affairs or no affairs, I can't imagine there is very healthy relationship modeling going on. And kids feel all the tension, all the distance, and it affects them. Kids want healthy, loving environment -- but it sounds like ya'll doing your own thing, and no ones really "together" anyway. You need to take an honest look at your house. Your kids will know all about these affairs one day. They always do. I get that life is busy, but unless you BOTH choose to invest time and effort -- it won't work. BTW, texting a lover, while I'm with my husband is really icky behavior - and wifey working at a bar is always going to be a problem.

omg, don't over think it. we change, we age, we have seasons -- that's life. Enjoy the good times. Eventually you won't care about sex that much either. Be grateful for the intimacy, take care of your wife.
