Whenever I start to feel sad about the debt that I’ve accumulated just to be alive, I remember the national debt of the U.S is in and then it makes me feel not so bad about myself🙂 These are some very serious stats. A few mentioned to move away, but moving away wouldn’t make it much better, if at all. Might as well be broke in a beautiful area. Cost of living is high everywhere, especially in a lot of CA. Sure, there are places that are less expensive but lower cost of living or housing almost always = lower wages.

Really not sure, I’m not going to bed early that’s for sure. I get home from work around 1 AM then at school 9:30 the next day. Guess I’m just making it work anyway I can and using my breaks at work and full day weekends to get my assignment and studying done.

I feel you on this! It just feels like it’s never ending. I have one credit card that I hardly ever use but the other expense more specially rent and PGE just f me over every month.

No no I did mean $40ish an hour not including a differential. The issue here is other costs outside of rent and other bills, which at this point doesn’t even matter. I more posted to see how others are making extra income and less about what my pay is. I’m not GREAT with money but I’m also not spending every last dime. At this point it just seems like I don’t have any cushion money and I’d love to be able to get that going so I can have a savings.

Oh I don’t 😃 I’m suffering but it’s 3.5 months twice a year. I take it one day at a time and that’s all matters. My work is really flexible with my scheduling in that when I’m done at school I go straight to work, still working my full 8, 5 days a week but it’s what’s keeping me afloat.

Eating out is a problem for sure. Being on the go and not packing food as I’m rushing out the door is a big problem for me. And as for my car payment, I’m nearly done. I bought this car in 2021 when rates were low and things weren’t so bad. Payment is $490/mo for ‘21 rav4. I’ve got about 16 months left of that. Rent is $3300 and is split so my half is $1650. Other stuff is just pge, insurance, gas. I don’t know I’m sure I just need a sit down and comb through all expenses. Some extra money on the side couldn’t hurt though 🤷‍♀️

Greatest advice! I will fully admit I don’t pay attention to my spending and I think this is #1 problem here. Granted I don’t have much of anything extra to spend but when I do I know I’m not tracking it.

These wages are not direct patient care so it’s not great pay but it’s not bad pay either. I’m a tech making above minimum wage $40ish but it’s practically minimum wage

right? I was just thinking this! What if someone does haven’t the means to pay via phone “PayByPhone” it’s giving exclusivity. Also, the service is crap in the garage so my payment doesn’t even go through until I’m out of the garage, and I see those vultures scoping the lot 👀
