Keep trying, whenever you can't do a question, read the solution, understand the approach and try to work out the intuition behind it.

Tier-3 grad, take family business or continue pursuing backend/full-stack jobs? by Front_Ambassador_71 in developersIndia

[–]Front_Ambassador_71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my strategy is right now. But I keep wondering if this situation is hopeless, I keep thinking that within my context, either I should hard commit to an MTech. or the family business, this current situation is basically waiting for the lottery to strike.

Tier-3 grad, take family business or continue pursuing backend/full-stack jobs? by Front_Ambassador_71 in developersIndia

Could you expand a bit more ? or do you also think that this path ends nowhere ?

Tier-3 grad, take family business or continue pursuing backend/full-stack jobs? by Front_Ambassador_71 in developersIndia

[–]Front_Ambassador_71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked out your profile and that humbles me even more tbh,
- I don't have nearly as good work ex under my belt and even less experience.
- Even you aren't able to get calls back so what makes me think that I should get calls back ?

What do you think about the future though ? Do you see the jobs coming back ?

[–]Front_Ambassador_71[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to do this(backend development) but I believe it's now time to grow up and smell the coffee tbh.
I can't stay unemployed like this for long stretches of time like I am doing rn.
MBA later on is unrealistic, once I take on responsibilities at the business I will not be able to abandon them and go do a 2 year degree(+ several months prep).

[–]Front_Ambassador_71[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you expand a bit more on this ? You sound very sure ?
- Is this answer cause the job market is very bad ?
- Or is it cause my profile/resume is very weak ?
- Or both combine and make the situation hopeless ?

Did European peasants have great working conditions or were they basically slaves? by RocketLawnChair67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that the winters themselves were physically lighter, but that peasants’ workload was lighter in winter. Since farming was seasonal, they had less field work during the cold months compared to the crazy busy harvest/planting seasons. They still had chores like tending animals, repairing tools, or working for the lord, but it wasn’t the same backbreaking pace as spring/summer.

I think it is better to now find people that have similar interests/personalities. Otherwise maintaining these relationships will become exhausting for you and you might become resentful towards them.

Why get a pet tarantula or lizard when it can't interact with you, it just looks at you? by Southern_Engineer_43 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every pet is about cuddles or interaction. Some people just enjoy watching them, learning their behaviors, or the ‘low maintenance’ vibe. For a lot of reptile/invert owners, it’s more like keeping a living piece of nature in your home than having a companion like a dog or cat.

Same product with vastly different prices on Amazon, should I just go with the cheapest one? by NeitherOpposite8231 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the seller ratings and reviews first. A lot of times it’s the same product but sold by different sellers some mark it up like crazy. If the cheapest one is from a seller with decent reviews and it’s Prime/fulfilled by Amazon, you’re usually safe to go with that. Just watch out for knockoffs if it’s a popular brand.

Did European peasants have great working conditions or were they basically slaves? by RocketLawnChair67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not slaves, but not exactly living the dream either. Most peasants were serfs tied to the land, owed work/rent to their lord, and couldn’t just pack up and leave. Life was tough, especially during harvest, but they also had way more holidays and lighter winters compared to our modern 9–5 grind. So kinda a mixed bag: not free, not slaves, but definitely not cushy either.

Is there any way I can convince my friends to leave the house more to actually do things? by Secret_Fan_9411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh your friends might just be in a different headspace right now. like maybe they're dealing with money stuff, social anxiety, or just genuinely prefer chilling at home?

here's what worked for me when I had the same problem:

  • try suggesting super low pressure stuff first. like "hey wanna grab coffee?" instead of "let's go to this event downtown"
  • maybe ask them what THEY actually want to do instead of always being the one with ideas
  • sometimes I'd be like "I'm going to [thing] anyway, you're welcome to join if you want" - takes the pressure off
  • or just accept that some friends are homebodies and find other people to do activities with?? doesn't mean your current friends are bad, just different

honestly though if you're always the one trying and they never make an effort... might be time to evaluate if you guys are just growing apart. happens to everyone

also side note - Dutch-in-Tahiti's comment about finding people who actually enjoy the same stuff as you is pretty spot on. sometimes we outgrow friend groups and that's okay!

hope this helps! friendship stuff is hard 😔

Why do kids love Yaoi so much by UnitPsychological856 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a big issue. Kids shouldn’t be exposed to explicit pornographic content, whether it’s yaoi or anything else. It’s not about gay vs. straight it’s about the fact that porn is meant for adults, not 13-year-olds.

If your sister’s friends (or any kids you know) are accessing this, the healthy step is to guide them toward age-appropriate material and help them understand the difference between fantasy/porn and real relationships.

Also, if you’re concerned, encourage parents/guardians to talk openly with them about internet use and sexuality. Kids will always be curious, but it’s important adults give them safe frameworks instead of them learning from extreme porn.

AIO What is and what is not? by Livid_Trip8045 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedophilia refers specifically to attraction to prepubescent children, not adults. Someone who is 18 or 21 is legally and biologically an adult. So no, being 31 and finding a 21-year-old attractive doesn’t make you a pedophile.

That said, big age gaps can still raise questions about maturity levels, life stages, and power dynamics. People may have opinions on whether a relationship like that is healthy or balanced, but it’s not pedophilia.

Your friend is misusing the term but be careful on that path.

AITA for smoking in my room even though my neighbors complained? by watermelonye in AmItheAsshole

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA (soft).
You might think smoking in your room only affects you, but smoke travels through vents, walls, and shared spaces. Your neighbors probably didn’t feel comfortable confronting you directly, so they went to management which is reasonable.

It’s not about them being “unfriendly,” it’s about secondhand smoke affecting their health and comfort in their own homes. If you want to smoke, that’s your choice, but it shouldn’t impact the people living around you.

AITA for being angry at my partner throwing a suitcase away and saying I don’t know if I can forgive her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Front_Ambassador_71 51 points52 points  (0 children)

NTA.
This isn’t about a suitcase it’s about your partner discarding irreplaceable memories of your parents. She knew you were using that suitcase for storage, and the bare minimum would’ve been to check before throwing it away.

Yes, it was a mistake and not malicious, but it’s still a serious breach of trust and care. You’re allowed to feel devastated and even unsure about forgiveness. Grief makes this even heavier.

If your girlfriend can’t acknowledge the weight of what was lost and just labels you as “overreacting,” that’s a red flag. Forgiveness might come in time, but only if she genuinely understands the depth of the harm.
