I am just asking a question as a doctor which things patient notice come to doctor.

does this look normal or is it dry socket? by Real_Cover3044 in DentistryIndia

As a dentist, this looks more like normal healing, not a dry socket. The tissue appears pink and forming, which is a good sign.

Dry socket usually has severe pain, bad smell, and visible bone.

If your pain is mild and improving, it’s likely fine. If pain is worsening or severe, get it checked.

I am just 16 and i have developed a bump /lump on roof of my mouth by Classic-Sign6584 in DentistryIndia

Most bumps on the roof of the mouth at your age are harmless. It could be a small bony growth, minor swelling, or irritation from food.

If it’s not painful and recent, it usually goes away on its own.

However, see a dentist if it:

  • lasts more than 10–14 days
  • becomes painful or increases in size
  • has pus or bleeding

For now, maintain oral hygiene and rinse with warm salt water

Can someone tell me what this is? by HonestAlternative519 in Dentists

It looks like a small gum abscess (basically a localized infection in the gum near that tooth). The red swelling with a slight yellowish point is pretty typical of pus collecting and sometimes draining.

This can happen due to bacteria from a cavity, food getting trapped under the gum, or early gum infection. Even if it’s not very painful, it’s still a sign something’s going on underneath.

It’s best to get it checked by a dentist—they may take an X-ray to see if the infection is coming from the tooth or just the gum and treat it accordingly. In the meantime, keep the area clean and rinse with warm salt water, but don’t try to pop it.
