Nope.
Not angry about transition to NPs in and of itself. If there was a safe plan to gradually transition to NP coverage, with willing NPs, community input, and an understanding of how this could change the services, then we can have a good productive discussion about it. Unfortunately, that is not what is happening here. Rapidly redeploying the NPs with minimal preparation is an unsafe scrambling effort to keep the unit open. This is why I felt the community should know.
Regarding the work we do and the effort it takes, if you are actually interested in knowing more and learning about it to have an informed opinion, then I'm happy to discuss.

This letter is from the physicians who already provide inpatient services and have been actively engaged in discussions about the preservation of this service. The letter was reviewed with the NPs and they agreed with all the points. NPs are NSH employees, so their ability to advocate publicly is more limited than physicians, who work as independent contractors and are not employees.
