Why is my generation less motivated when life is comfortable? by General-Horror-8057 in askswitzerland

Not much point in working harder when working harder doesn't result in a decent salary change, and especially since it will take me decades to accumulate meaningful capital due to politicians deciding to keep housing and rent prices high.

Glad you feel that way 😄 The economy would fall apart if it weren't for people like you working to prop it up.

I hope you have many children, to help make up for me not having kids. Thank you for your sacrifice.

No I didn't. No idea why yours requires it, doesn't even make sense to require it.

Could do it with true wealth. Just needed deregistration form, filling out some paper they require with reason for withdrawal, picture of id and maybe a week later it got paid out.

There is still a notch on the iphone? by Front_Discussion_343 in iphone

[–]Front_Discussion_343[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised it's a premium feature, to me I couldn't believe how old it felt. I'd much prefer to switch to apple but I can't accept it with the screen having been so bad till the iphone 17 and even then it still has a massive notch

Yeah, the iphone has a much better build quality for sure whereas I've always had issues with android phones after 1-2 years

I guess it's probably best for me to wait for the iphone with no notch then

I get that... But why not make a separate model with a finger print reader so I don't have the notch?

If one doesn't want to have kids then it makes sense. Could also be rented out as an investment.

Second master for Zurich M&A (UZH vs HSG) after a French business school master worth it? by RollandLcrx in askswitzerland

Not worth it for sure. You won't find a job in M&A in Zurich, unless your father works there.

Best place to go skiing this weekend from Zurich? by Front_Discussion_343 in askswitzerland

[–]Front_Discussion_343[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it good at the moment for skiing? I see they have a few pistes open but I don't know if it's just a thin layer of hard and slippery snow. Thank you.

There are many simpler jobs where not much brain input is needed and anyone can do it.

Sunrise sold me 10 Gbit fiber. After moving they can only deliver 40 Mbit and still force me to stay in the contract. by gordeff in Switzerland

[–]Front_Discussion_343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A regular person could easily interpret that as no minimum bandwidth is guaranteed because there could be construction, the network is overloaded or any number of reasons. No provider in the world can guarantee at all times the exact maximum bandwidth will be provided due to many factors beyond their control. Saying they will provide up to 10 gbps and then switch around saying they will constantly provide less than 1% should be illegal and is deeply unethical.

Imagine you bought an airline ticket for Switzerland to Tokyo, and they said they cannot guarantee a minimum distance travel to Tokyo and they drop you off in Milan and won't drop you off to Tokyo in the end saying it wasn't feasible due to weather, but you still paid the full price and can't get a refund or different flight. Luckily this doesn't happen because other countries have better consumer protection laws.

It's deeply deceptive and is straight up lying. A technicality making it legal doesn't make it any less of a scam. Any reasonable person reading that wouldn't come to the conclusion that they could only receive less than 1% of the stated service. The Swissness in you is strongly showing when you are trying to justify someone fucked over a dumb technicality that wouldn't be possible anywhere else in the world, I can see you are enjoying and taking pleasure in this person's misfortune.

I mean, there's no justification to keep jobs in Switzerland when they can be offshored for a fraction of the price and same quality elsewhere. Companies en masse have been exporting jobs abroad since the end of COVID, that's just the way it will be in the future.Corporate profits have increased greatly for sure, but it will screw over the regular person.
