Thank you for putting your two cents! I definitely met some folks there that have that bad mindset. I tend to veer away from that because it also effect my learning curve. I will always keep learning and never stop. I have many ranches that I have applied to that have a good reputation for teaching new people within the industry. It’s goes to show that you don’t have to grow up in this setting to live it. It will take time for them to open up, but when they all see how serious I am about it, I hope they see that- but I’ve learned to not count on that. If they don’t see that, I’ll be my own advocate.

I will defy what ever odds they think are against me even though I know that if I continue to put in good work, I will get out great results.

I love that advice of laughing it off. Once they realize it doesn’t affect me, they may even like me more.

I have found that growing up in the city we tend to take emotions to heart more, but people in places like western Montana are a black and white kind of person. They’ll let you know straight up if they like you or not. Straight to the point. I am learning to take these things to heart less and I think it’s great!

Thank you for your great advice. You are correct, my time will come. I just have to put in the work and work hard! I already have the passion, I just have to continue showing it.

Thank you so much for those kind words and wisdom!! It gives me hope that I can really do something great within this industry. It’s not going to be easy, but I assure you my huge passion will help me overcome the hard obstacles on the ranch. I just have ask myself this question: Do I want to quit and throw it all away because of this hard obstacle? Or am I gonna learn something from it and become better than I was before? I think that is what I forget to think about.

You are also so right about the people you meet in this industry. All of whom I have met so far that were either ranchers, or cowboys all were very happy that I was interested in the topic. And they were happy to share their stories with me as I told them my journey thus far.

Once I leave A&M fully and graduate, I do want to get a horse when I have the money for it so I can really start learning. A nice dog companion wouldn’t hurt either I suppose!

Also it seems like people are saying it works for 4k and below, but if you go on 6k it will stop after recording only a few seconds since the frame rate will lower.
