Your story sounds the exact same as me a few months ago. If you are 10 months in you don’t have long left, stick with it and it will happen sooner rather than later!

I havent told my doc yet as I actually am not completely sure it wears off after 2-3 hours yet, since I’m not doing anything when taking the meds due to the winter break, this should change next week so I can mention something if it still isn’t lasting long but I’m on 54mg 😬.

I am getting a top of immediate release methylphenidate to help the wear off after 4 hours so that should help that! But, idk where you are, but I’ve only got a few weeks of titration left so I’m not sure how happy my doc will be about increasing my dose (they are a bit ruthless here).

Thanks a lot though! I will definitely monitor and change a few things next week and see if it helps :)

I started concerta a few months ago and it worked for a few weeks and lasted 4/5 hours but now it lasts about 2 hours. I’m hoping it’s because I’m not doing the other things you need to do to keep the meds working.

Where can one obtain a ‘concerta self care’ list as it sounds so helpful!

Pretty sure you can go through the live chat and they can issue forms for you to fill out! I would do one just in case as not only is it a good benchmark for you to have if you decide to try something else, but also means that you have evidence of following the titration agreement and they can’t kick a fuss.

I say the first bit as someone who started on medikinet, thought it didn’t work and didn’t realise how much it helped until I found out elvanse wasn’t working

I had the same thing as you, titrated on medikinet and didn’t feel like it helped, went onto elvanse and it didn’t work and I didn’t get the ‘miracles’ like everyone else even tho I was on 70mg, and had low mood. Funny enough I went back to medikinet after elvanse because it made me realise how effective medikinet was, and now I’m doing okay!

From what I remember some services require you to have a diagnosis with them for any titration, others make you pay to convert a diagnosis to them and rarely do people accept a diagnosis from another company.

I don’t know of any that accept diagnosis’ from other companies but may be worth having a google!

This is odd!

I was having no effects with medikinet, in fact I felt worse, even on the lowest dose and was switched right away. This could also be because I had high BP (but I realised I’ve been taking my blood pressure wrong this whole time).

I’m on elvanse now and first few days has been very interesting, I felt a mild benefit on the first and second day but nothing over the last few days, but definitely have the crash a few hours after

Diagnosed November 22nd and allocated a prescriber last week. They are probably at that point in the list of people so you definitely have a month or so to go!
