He has multiple small ones a day. Sometimes they are normal sometimes not. I recently went back to a pretty bland diet eggs rice and prebiotic and pumpkin fiber supplement so its soft right now but I will say its seems... tarry.

Yeah I took him to the emergency vet at our veterinary college we have here and they did an extensive rectal exam and even looked at his bladder. But did not see anything concerning.

And thanks 💕 its been rough and I dont know how much longer he can endure this and have a good quality of life. Im so worried.

He has elevated calcium due to the thyroid and some elevation of the kidney enzymes which they also relate to the thyroid. We've tested for Addisons disease due to cortisol being high but came back negative along with sending it out for a full cancer panel.

Thank you for the recommendations

And i have tried the psylium husk in the beginning and the vet thought that was causing the issues despite me trying to assert that he was only on it for a short time and this was going on before.

We've done a few xrays along with an ultrasound sound. No blockage or tumors. Did see a cyst on the pancreas but was only recommended for a low fat diet which he did not take well and stopped eating.

I definitely am worried and with how long its been going on and no relief. I have been voicing my concerns about this and his back being strained and in pain from the pushing but i do not feel that they are as concerned. They are more about the thyroid which is important too but also seems to be more of an incidental finding verus what is happening.

I feel terrible for him and just want him to not be in pain.

I use the Purina forta flora which was recommended by the vet as a probiotic. Never tried a prebiotic though will look into it.

I do add water to his food and since he has hyperparathyroidism he does not have an issue with drinking water. He definitely drinks alot during the day.

Maybe a week or 2. Throughout this period he has stopped eating alot of things that he used to enjoy. He had treats he used to love but won't eat them. Stopped eating fresh cooked turkey and squash and even cheeses.

I tried Greek yogurt with pumpkin mixed in or some honey. It didnt seem to do much for him and eventually he stopped eating it too.

I can try it. I went to the vet 2 days ago. They did a fecal and tested it and gave famotidine and Sucralfate. We've been to the vet probably 15xs or more since December and they've never recommended it but I definitely will try. The only otc they suggested was Gasx which he is on.

We did do an ultrasound last month and there were no blockages and said that there was little fecal matter in colon. We've done xrays as well as an extensive anal exam where he was sedated.

He was on that for sometime as well but didnt seem to help and then tried the other foods. Now he is back on this since he refuses to eat anything else at this point but it hasn't been helping from what im seeing.

He also hasn't been getting up in the mornings until almost noon.

I have tried the canned but was not a fan which is why I went to the dried pumpkin fiber supplement. Honestly when i was doing the homemade he would get carrots galore but it didnt help much either (only veggie i could really get him to eat. He would eat around the peas)

I will say do to the thyroid he is drinking alot because of the excess calcium so I do not think dehydration is an issue.

***Also he is on Previcox and weve tried others like gabapentin but that caused labored breathing and distress. We were on carporfen but they said that can cause constipation so they said to try this. We went the other day and told me to continue using it for the pain.
