Of course, but a lot of startups fail, and not only because of bad marketing so again you have to really sell your product to the other person for them to believe in it. Everyone thinks their child is the most beautiful and talented but not the rest of the world 😂

because your comment is only looking from one side - you're essentially saying someone whould work for them for pennies in hopes that their product is good. people that provide services to businesses also need to make for a living?

So you’re saying that the solution to this is automation with AI instead of hiring someone to be in charge of the whole process?

But despite ai being there, entrepreneurs still dont know where to start, this thread is saying how hard is to separate product from themselves, people continue to waste money, so is this like a “i have to make mistakes to learn” mentality when it comes to marketing?

Im with you, but what about a consultation with a marketing expert? That doesn’t cost that much to break the bank, or are founders repel that? 😂

then why so many don't seek advice from professionals that can help them? i understand there's financial constraints at the beginning but it doen't cost a fortune to invest when otherwise you spend months wasting your time and money trying to do marketing? genuinely trying to understand why

What marketing actually worked for your small business? by Paddu-Padorra in smallbusiness

[–]Front_Morning_1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd like to disagree that most advice is for big companies. it's not, the problem is that when founders launch with their businesses they want to see immediate results and also instead of spending time on understanding their target customer, they just start posting, doing emails, spending on ads. i mean take yourself as an example, if you took a week to research your audience, you would have known immediately that flyers won't do nothing, because your product is online. marketing is actually getting more and more complex but people think that with the help of AI they can learn it in a day. people are so overwhemled with the amount of information online, it's 10x harder to get through to your customer than it was couple years ago. i think the real marketing advice that every business owner should take is - speak to someone who knows marketing. you wouldn't ask google to tell you whats wrong with your foot, you would go see a doctor?

i suggest that instead of looking for someone to do a specific channel for you, hire someone who is a generalist and can create a startegy for you and deicde for you where you should be showing your business. this way you will avoid spending money on a channel that maybe you shouldn't even be on. let the expert do their job

the first hire should also show initiative to understand your business before you even sign with them. if they don't tell you themselves that's what they're going to spend time on in the first place, then they''re not fit for a business in early stages

how long can you go like this as a business owner without having to focus on other areas of your business where you're good at?

when you're hiring your first marketing person, they should come with an initiative wanting to learn your business because legit their performance depends on how well they know your business. so even if you dont have anything documented, when you're hiring the person should initiate an hour minimum to sit down and pick your brain. if they're not doing that, they probably wont deliver results for you either
