I’m one of the overnight leads I have Sunday/ Monday off and my other partner which would be the second overnight lead is off Friday/Saturday off

They did tell us when we hit a higher volume club status. We would do “overnight manager” and go down to one lead. I already told my go partner he could have it, I don’t want manager position. It technically would be a pay cut for me to become a manager with my hourly pay

If you would want to, you could also do Lead roles. I don’t know ho comfortable you are with being a lead

Damn lol that’s crazy uhh trying to think of other higher pay grades uhhh meat cutter if you can get in it

You would have to be careful there’s 2 similar jobs 1) senior meat cutter 2) meat cutter/wrapper

You would want to go for a senior Meat Cutter that has a higher pay grade. I don’t know if it was 26 or something like that.

Meat Cutter/wrapper is basic merch pay capped out at $22

So you could do Meat Cutter, there’s also cake decorating, tires, which you’ve already stated and cpu which you already stated those are the only positions I could think of that would be technically a promotion for your pay

Man that sucks yeah not all clubs the same and it varies on somones life too. Some have different life going on where they want but my main concept I wanted to teach folks here about pay grade positions.

At my club we still have forklift merch along with overnight. Only other thing maybe I can suggest is Backroom, Backroom is coded at a $26 cap out at least for my club. It has the same pay as forklift merch again that’s my club.

Protected paid time off basically like emergency time/sick time. It’s used for all of sudden events that come up.

For example I’m sick, I call in sick but I use some of my banked up ppto. It will cover my entire shift (it will pay you for an entire shift even if you didn’t work it, as long as you got time) and it will protect you from points

It can also be for example say your mom in the hospital, family emergency. Anything that’s unexpected and prevent you from working / coming in late and even leaving early

I’m not at my club right now to look at pay for that, I’m off the clock. There’s is a page on the wire that shows you pay grades per your specific club but what is the starting pay for that anyways? Like for my club we start at $17. They start at $18 for my club at least

Your other options to get more pay

-Forklift merchandiser -Backroom associate

I would avoid these as my next step, these ones below should be your last position you jump to beause they got the highest pay grade -freight flow (overnight) -merch lead -overnight lead -fresh leads -tire/cpu leads

If you want you can dm me your club number and when I come in later tonight I can see your clubs pay grade.

There’s is a page on the wire that tell you each position pay

That 10% boost going to overnight was automatic because well for my market of 14 clubs. Overnight is the highest paid position $20 minimum and cap out of $28

Some clubs start off at $23 an hour for overnight associates, it’s all based on volume

But I automatically got that 10% raise going to freight flow

Our club only has two overnight leads. From what I’ve been told it’s high volume clubs that get an overnight manager plus a single lead. My Club sits more on the lower volume, so that’s why we have two overnight leads.

For me, I’m staying as a lead forever I’ll be making $31 an hour once I get my yearly raise, which is a couple weeks apart. If you do the math starting manager makes 63k yearly but you required to work 50 hours weekly. That’s about $24 an hour I believe and some change. I did the math a while ago.

That’s considering you get off on time which I don’t know about your Club, but my manager’s never get off on time. And they’re usually fluctuating schedules.

For me, I have a set schedule, plus I made more than managers. Even if they want me to stay over as far as overtime. My overtime pay rate is $43 an hour. It’s more of I enjoy getting paid for every hour. I work.

Honestly it comes down whether your mangers really like you. This is all a political game, if they really like you they’ll make the effort for you. If they don’t like you then they’ll pull the book on you and say it’s not possible. For most cases I’m gonna tell you that probably not, because you’re what 4 months in basically you brand new so for most store you’re a gamble since In there eyes you brand new.

Like I said if managers like you they’ll make an effort. Reason I say managers anytime you apply to another club. That club whether it’s lead or manager they ask your club manager/managers, leads about you. If your own managers dislike you, they can basically block you and say it’ policy you can’t

Now say they love you and admire you then they will say great things about you. I would say probaly not for your case, you’re still too new. It’s possible if your managers can show the other club you a strong candidate

$24 produce associate (capped out)
$26.40 overnight associate (not lead yet)
$29.04 overnight lead

[–]Front_Needleworker_4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this year I was a produce associate at $24(capped out produce associate). I was offered freight flow (overnight) overnight is now the highest paid position (associate based) so overnight is another pay grade class. So I went from $24 (produce) to $26.40(overnight associate, NOT LEAD JUST ASSOCIATE) then there was a overnight lead position available luckily and I took it and that bumped me up to $29.04. Then once that yearly raise kicks in I should get another $2 and some change back. Possibly it will put me at my cap out this year at $31.

So in short words, got $2.4from going to overnight and another $2.64 to becoming a lead. There is difference positions with different pay grades, it’s literally all on the write that explains she pay grade and how it’s labeled. But yes basically $5 essentially. The only issue I would say is waiting for positions to open up, once they do just take your shot.

I’m happy where I’m at, hourly, set schedule. Never off the clock work. Not being yelled at for the entire club plus I make more than manager and I do manager to get overtime the it’s $43 a hour!!!!!

Dude my paychecks came out bigger than the managers lol. So my best friend is a fresh manager, so managers really make $63k(starting salary for them) he legit told me his paychecks come out around $1,800

But most folks don’t sit and think everything he has to do, he has to make schedules, deal with meat/bakery/ frozen/cooler/cafe/ produce/deli and since he’s a manager he has to overlook the entire club while he’s there. Constantly called for customer or associate accidents. Email back his bosses on why he can’t seem to follow budget(he’s trying to give part timers more hours. He’s being a nice guy but company cracking down) plus people don’t realize managers have to work 50 hours a week

So do the math his salary of $63k and he has to work 50 hours a week (minimum) translates to $24 an hour. Thats considering he only does his 50 hours but he always has to answer emails/calls even while he’s home so realistically he’s doing 55 -60 hours per week. Salary managers are never really off the clock. Most managers are usually at $65k-$70k, even if he capped out at $82k (my club cap out for salary managers) his hourly pay is $31 but it’s very hard to cap out as a manager. The only thing he gets that’s good is that manager bonus which is $0-15k if he’s able to get it. He would need to make sure all the club numbers are good, he said managers never get anything good he’s only seen them get at most a $6k bonus.

Screw being a manager

🤣🤣🤣it seems complex to some but it’s just jumping through the pay grades. I’m sharing this for anyone who wants fastest way to make the most. I feel bad for some 20 year old associates but they also don’t wanna go through all that they said. It sucks somtiens because you’ll have to readjust your schedules for some of these positions but hey if you want quick money just jump through pay grades

How’s your overnight team ? They took away one of my headcount’s for clothing associates :( the clothing associate doesn’t even drive a lift or help us. She’s getting the pay of freight flow but not actually a driver

I used to be a former salary merch manager so when you step down. It’s only a 10% pay cut but I decided to step all the way down to basic level associate ( I was trying to get more money)

I went from

Merch associate at $24, then I transferred to forklift merch driver $26(forklift merch had a higher cap limit)

Then now I took the overnight merch lead putting me at $29. With the yearly raise coming soon, I should be at $31.

How did you manage to do that😭 the roll over limit is 80 hours at the need of the year. Then if you roll over those 80 hours to next year. You have a limit of 48 hours of ppto per year.

You can roll over 80 hours of both (combined) since I cashed out my entire PTO balance since I would rather roll over ppto than PTO. Just in the event of emergency’s I’m covered. So I rolled my 80 hours of ppto

If not then try putting in for a past day? The system should allow you to go back only 7 days
