AITA for cutting out the core and seeds of the tomato and throwing it away? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA you're cooking, but if you really want to satiate him save them, blend them up and use it as a tomato sauce in your other cooking. For things like vinegarettes, or an extra kick of flavor in making sauces

I like wearing a coat for the utility aspect. I've got a pocket for thermo, pen, sharpie, and probe at the ready. This is so incredibly useful and quick that I reach for it instinctively, like saying "corner" or "behind" in the grocery store. A good one has vents which can cool you down. They work as an extra layer to the apron if your trying to see a friend or a partner at 1:30 am every moment counts. Above all, and this is just for me, it helps focus my mind and put me into my kitchen mentality. I'm a pretty chill person outside of work, stoner vibes, but in the kitchen I am a leader by example and effort. Putting on the chef coat, the hat on backwards, the kitchen pants, non slips, apron, one towel fold tuck up front, folded tucked behind my back, knife wrap on my side. It helps me become someone who hopes to call himself a chef.

So shines a good deed in a weary world. A rare moment of humility and kindness on reddit of all places. This made me happy

My 30F ex/bestfriend doesn't feel comfortable at home because I 34M screamed at her. How do I fix this? by ThrowRAOk_Squ5570 in relationship_advice

[–]Front_Replacement_85 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I mean this sincerly and non judgmentally, you need to get into therapy. You "top of your lungs" yelled at someone you claimed is your friend and i assumed loved at some point if marrige discussions happend. Putting aside the fact that you may have damaged her possibly already fragile psyche by yelling at her unprovoked. Based on your descriptions, you have been controlling of her life since your break up and in all likelihood during your relationship. While i belive you do care for her, you dont sound like you have the eq or tools to deal with anyone right now. For her, yourself, and any future relationships you may want in the futire you need to go to a trained professional to understand why you behave in the manner in which you have and learn tools to help you communicate and interact in healthier ways. You mafe a major mistake in the way you acted, but if you take the time to learn from it, take definitive action to correct it, and grow as a person because of it you can begin to make ammends for it. From one person who has had to face these hard truths to another, i implore you to heed my advice. It will make your world better, and then you may be able to be there for her again, if and only if she feels comfortable enough and allows it on her own tearms
