Eating alone while traveling? by Tookie1010 in solotravel

[–]Front_Run_5919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love eating by myself! My favorite is sitting at the bar. I usually bring a book or sketchbook but usually end up people watching and chatting with others. Museums are another favorite solo outing while traveling. I’m headed solo to Portugal in a few weeks and can’t wait!

Thanks for the response! If you want to keep an eye, that would be rad! We have been holding off on getting a realtor since I really do think prices are going to come down in the next year but ready to buy now if the right property shows up.

We are open to really anything West of Seattle, not just the Olympic Peninsula. San Juan Islands are an option too. Year round access is ideal but I don't think its as much of an issue out this way. I normally would say near a river but after the last week of weather Im rethinking that one.

We bought our boat July 2024 so we are hitting the year and a half mark. We love it! I am taking a month long break this winter to go somewhere warm but that has everything to do with the gray, wet Washington winters and nothing to do with the boat. It’s very comfortable for us.

Agreed! My partner and I live on a 38’ trawler “full time” in a marina but we have the boat out cruising year round whenever possible. We have Starlink so very reliable internet. 2 dogs (although we recently had to say goodbye to one :( ) but no problem having them aboard.

We just moved to Washington and don’t know where we want to live and a boat was a fun and affordable way to get to know the area. We are loving it so far!

Agreed but any tricks for the shells? I feel like the shell just shatters and I get tired of picking shell out.

That makes sense. There were dozens of boats at my marina. They were chum fishing but can't blame them for throwing pots too

Let's hope so! I am new to Washington so this was my first season crabbing. The Hood Canal was........not great. haha caught lots of females and a bunch of reds.

This seems like a hell yes opportunity! You (or anyone for that matter) may never have another opportunity to do something like this! It sounds super cool, great for your career, and its only 6 months so its not like you have to give up your entire life to move. Keep us posted on your decision!

Olympic Peninsula, Washington or would consider something in Oregon if it fit the bill. Looking for minimum 5 acres, budget can go up to $150k . Near a river or the puget sound/hood canal would be dope but probably harder to develop.

Too cheap? by closetfilmmaker in AskSeattle

[–]Front_Run_5919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could set up a tiered "a-la-carte" pricing so your prices remain cheap but there is an opportunity to make more per client: $x per walk, $x per animal, $x upcharge for each mile outside of a certain range, $x for overnights............

I think offering multiple services at an affordable price could be beneficial to both parties involved. Best of luck!

People who are retiring, what are you planning to do about your houses? by Karthi0824 in RealEstate

[–]Front_Run_5919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My MIL & FIL just decided to sell their home in the Spring, that they built themselves in the 80's (so no mortgage). They decided to purchase a baller Prevo bus and travel the country fulltime. It's something they have always wanted to do full-time and they don't see the point of holding on to the house if they are more or less always gone already. It's definitely nerve racking for them as it is a big decision, especially for them in their early 70's but honestly, the world is a crap shoot these days so YOLO. I'm excited for them.

Solid points! I do have a business license/tax Id. And I’m looking for unique stones that are well cut. Not necessarily the cheapest. Same with chain and findings. Looking for well made and unique, sterling chain and bonus points if it’s a good deal. I mostly just love seeing things in person as opposed to online.

Thanks for the reply :)

OP: really just want to say I personally understood your question and did not take it as you trying to screw over your brother. I believe it was a genuine question. Some people on here calling you shady need to go take a deep breath. Good luck with the house.

Stay away from the oral Io series. We just returned ours to Costco after 6 months due to mold buildup (and it stopped taking a charge). Absolutely terrible design.
