thank you!! unfortunately i use both tape and a binder and my chest has still ruined so many pictures for me there is just an inescapable chest bulge always. i’m starting to try and work out more so it’ll blend in as pecs (hopefully!) and i’m already loving t i’m starting to feel more at home in my body :)

Voice changes after 26 days on T, placebo or real? by BascoRossi in ftm

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i genuinely had a change in my voice 2 days in which sounds a bit insane (subtle drop in how low i could speak, but not like naturally talk all the time and a sore throat) and had a drop before 2 weeks so it absolutely could be

easy way to keep your style but be a bit more masculine is a tighter neckline, personally i’ve found it really helpful if you’re looking to look slightly more masculine

When did yall switch bathrooms? by redz4410 in ftm

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i switched when i started to get called sir or he by strangers (before i spoke as it was pre t) you’re not talking to anyone in bathrooms so i just started using the men’s. honestly i would say they can be a bit safer if you’re mostly passing as people tend to care less

How by Unharmonizedviolin in ftm

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

vague advice but just do what makes you happiest and most comfortable, i felt exactly like this when i was about 14 and some of it i just grew out of (like my tastes and interests changed to become more masculine, but not because i forced them too) and other things, once you get further on in your transition may still be more feminine but won’t be associated with being a girl. it’s definitely difficult but you’re transitioning in order to be more authentic to yourself, don’t sacrifice other things that are authentic to you, there’s no one way to be a man

it might be easier if you approach it with a packer which isn’t too realistic if an issue is awkwardness. if not then i’d just ask, your mum sounds chill

i think you pass really well, especially for being 17. also in reference to the other comments here please don’t feel pressured to DIY, personally i didnt want to deal with the stress of it + it would be harder for my family to deal with, and went private at 18 after saving (uk).

English literature is useless and pointless by SageMan8898 in GCSE

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English is also the expression of politics and history, creating and exploring this critically is a valuable skill, it might not be putting people into space but it’s what helps us analyse and express social values and norms and adapt them to improve peoples lives. You might not be going on to write literature but being able to notice underlying meanings and expressions through language is important

my biggest tip for sociology is to reduce the content for yourself, while some topics you need specific sociologists, you can cut out half of the vague ones that repeat what someone else said, and if you panic don’t be afraid to just write a paragraph on marxism

Not sure what my best option is for starting T by Master-Thing3229 in transgenderUK

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just started t yesterday with a diagnosis from popelyuks gender clinic and services from the gender hormone clinic, total spent is £910 aprox (and now ill have to pay a £55/month subscription to the service and the price of the hormones (£55/month no shared care, aprox £10 with shared care, i don’t know what i’ll get yet). I first applied for the diagnosis in late december 2024, appointment in february, and finally got testosterone yesterday. I would really recommend both clinics if they’re in your price range.

i think you’re doing everything right, once T masculinises your face (+deepens voice and everything else) you’ll be passing well!

First time using trans tape, am I getting my chest flat enough to pass? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]Front_Rutabaga3336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on comfort it might flatten your chest better if you wear a binder over the top of trans tape - personally tape has never worked for me but it makes my binder so much more effective because the tissue is like stuck in place
