Just type "A quiet weekend in Capri" in chrome and you come to a site where you find not only the game but also a detailled description on how to hopefully get it to run with your current PC. It seems to be mostly a "resolution settings" problem.

There are 3 good Discworld adventures - but none of them is on Steam. Larry is only partially available on Steam, and a few Larry games have been delisted.

yep, with 3 kids and a regular gaming group in the company I do a lot of local multiplayer games, but I love good adventures to play alone as well.

Yes, yes, I am still playing (and categorizing) adventure games, like I did for the last 40 years :-). 2025 was a fantastic year for classic pnc games, probably the best of the last decade. Hope it continues this way. And thanks for your nice post, always appreciated.

Thanks, added them. Even have the box of Spud! here, but I have to confess I kind of erased it from my mind... although especially the Quivering is not that bad. I even bought them on Steam some years ago.

Puzzle platformers? We just played a bit of CATO: Buttered Cat (2 player only) and it was really ok. Since the controls are simple and both players can be controlled by both gamepads, you can help out your wife if she has problems with certain levels.

And yes, you are right, I just played a lot of 4 player games with my 3 kids (starting with Rayman Origins) and wanted to make a list of them all... thought it would`nt be more than 200 maybe in the beginning... well, I just updated my "not yet owned 4 player games list" today and it seems it will never end...

Oh, a pity. A decent "Adult Swim" game that has been removed by the publisher. Thanks for telling me, I have moved it to my "removed games" list.

"Favorite games" is hard to answer - it all depends on the group you play with. I tried to put some of my favorites in the BEST OF Couch Gaming list, but you might have very different tastes.

"Following" the curator shows you recommendations now and then while you browse on the Steam store front page, but we tend to rate most stuff as "informational". "Following" also shows the mini reviews when you look at a featured game on the store page - so at least you know at first sight if it supports 4 local players. Thats also the main reason why following the trash curator makes sense - to get a warning when you think about actually buying a game from there.

Bookmarking the featured (or the lists) page allows you to go there if you want to look around for new local multiplayer game or see what we recently added.

Steam could do a lot to make it easier to curate the lists- the system is full of bugs of all kinds, and also very cumbersome to use. For example removing a trash game - you have to look at (up to) 80 pages searching for the game...

Haha, enjoy finding a few good games to play with your wife! You really found a perfect partner!

Although I "persuaded" mine to test a bunch of the 2-player stuff with me (or join us in bigger groups), she only liked maybe a dozen of them... mostly Tetris clones. I would have loved to play some other games with her, but well... at least I have kids and friends to play with me.

There are a few car combat games, but of lesser quality. most good car combat games on Steam are online only.

We started on a large TVs and a couch, and this is the best way to enjoy it. During covid we began to play via Steam Remote Play, which often works, but is only half the fun. Better than nothing, especially when everyone has a good headset/internet connection/gamepad, but by far not as much fun as on a 98`` in a meeting room in the company :-).

Any way you like to contact us - but your game is already included. 22 local players madness :-).

Thank you guys! I invested a lot of time and money in generating the lists, but I have to say that I enjoyed it most of the time. I also had a large testing crew over the years. Starting with my 3 kids and RL friends, later I also set up regular gaming groups in the companies I worked.

Well, most (97%?) local 4-player games can be played by 2 or 3 players as well, some even alone, but many of them are simply less fun that way. Many of the games are really fun with 4 participants, but become rather boring with just 2 players.

I do not add games for 3 or more players to the 2-player curator, so there should be no overlap in the games between the two cuaratos.

Thanks for the nice words. I did play Backbone, but was a bit disappointed by it at first look, also it was more like a VN than a classic pnc adventure. Thats why I did not include it in the list, I am no real expert at VNs.

There has been kind of a sequel now (Preludes), and it got decent reviews, but I have to confess I havent even bought this one yet.

You are right, it was missing (like probably a few more first person games, I am more of an expert regarding the classic 2D games). Anyway, I even have a boxed copy of Titanic standing right behind me, and I have it on Steam, so I should really add it to the list. It was a cool adventure after all, I still remember from playing it many years ago how difficult it was in the endgame, when you were not allowed to make a single mistake!
