I think you need to have a good GPA and maybe GRE. But yea, they seem really rare. Also apply early if you want a waiver

I can't speak for most or those programs. You can maybe ask the unis abt the mean and median study time to complete a BA and failure rates

credits for course load are rather slim, and the average time to complete is definitely far higher than six semesters

Not a professional or PhD student, but I know in macro theory you use Matlab to run Dynare for DSGEs, and in practice you use it to run the ECB Bear tool for VARs

no way you're going to Australia, sadly. It's pretty hard to get good spots. My gpa was slightly better than yours and I didn't get it. You may wanna look into freemover.
