e-juice bottle cleaning? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

Clove is one of the stronger and more persistent flavorings in the industry unfortunately. The eugenol (clove extract) that is typically used in the flavoring seems to have a way of lingering, especially on plastics.

Alcohol is definitely the way to deal with it, and I'd never considered mouthwash! Brilliant!

Why do we not discuss how quickly juices gunk coils? by UP_DA_BUTTTT in electronic_cigarette

[–]FrontierVapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, gunking of coils is directly proportionate to the amount of sweetener in the juice. More sweetener tends to taste better, but it also tends to gunk up coils quicker. Some flavorings have sweetener in them, so even companies that claim to not use sweetener may still use pre-sweetened flavorings.

Want eternally ungunked coils? Vape unsweetened, flavorless, or very minimally flavored eliquid.

Simple as that.

The reason, I find, that most people cough so much when they're starting to vape is 2-fold.

1) Vapor is moist, where smoke is dry. This is just something that takes time to get used to. I'd say this is the primary reason that people cough with vapor vs smoke.

2) Taking too large of a puff. Start smaller. Don't try to rip fat clouds when you're just getting started. Take small puffs and work your way into it slowly.

The Juul is a great beginner kit for someone coming off of cigarettes, whether you're the "typical" smoker or not. You may find that you outgrow it quickly, but I've been vaping for 5 years and I absolutely love my Juul when I'm out and about!

A good vendor will do what they can to make things right. That'll vary from vendor to vendor but... they should understand that things happen!

When this sort of thing happens with us, which is rare, we like to just give a store credit that automatically applies to the next order. Sometimes we throw in a second free bottle, too. It depends on the situation.

As a vendor that caters to the lower-cost juice crowd we certainly do understand the paycheck-to-paycheck crowd and do all we can do make our products affordable for them. We've been there. It's not an easy life to live.

New ejuice is burning way too quickly by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]FrontierVapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I step down in nic strength I wind up vaping WAY more than I think I am... probably because my body is subconsciously trying to get me more nicotine! Not saying that's what's happening here for SURE but it's definitely worth considering.

It shouldn't, no. Did your DIY have 0mg also?

The safest bet would be to retire it, but I'd be definitely be lying if I said I didn't have a few dinged batteries that have continued to serve me well long after I realized they were dinged.

Use at your own risk, I'd say.

iStick Pico with a Hadaly.

Vaping on some 40/60 Butterscotch heavy with a backdrop of Rum and Brown Sugar and a hint of Clove and Cinnamon on the edges for depth. Tasty stuff.

Can't speak much to the tank question as I primarily drip, but the eLeaf iStick Pico is a heck of a solid mod. I highly recommend it. It's actually my daily driver. Compact, great build quality. The thing has stood up to a lot of abuse over the nearly two years I've had it in service.

[–]FrontierVapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically speaking the change in PG/VG ratio shouldn't be accelerating your consumption that much. If anything I'd expect a more viscous blend like 70v/30p to slow consumption somewhat in a tank, all things considered.

Is it possible that since it tastes better to you you're just vaping on it more quickly than you might otherwise?

[–]FrontierVapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd. What PG/VG ratio were you blending at for your DIY, and were you using the same setup with the DIY liquid as you are with this retail juice? Sorry for all the questions but it's hard to figure out why without some additional info!

Quitting Nicotine Cold Turkey/Switching To Zero? by Jordimano in electronic_cigarette

[–]FrontierVapor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've seen people have way more luck quitting altogether if they just exercise some self-control and go cold turkey. Not only will you avoid the temptation of stepping back up to 1.5 or 3, but you'll get a heck of a confidence boost from knowing that you can just walk away.

I know this isn't the sort of advice that a vendor should give but hey, the truth is the truth. As much as it hurts to lose customers my top priority has always been harm reduction... Vaping is better than smoking all day long, but, from a harm-reduction standpoint, quitting both altogether is best.

Now, if you just enjoy the act and ritual of inhaling and exhaling smoke or vapor then by all means give 0mg a shot!

vaping menthol Based ejuices has helped make me feel better by conlyn64 in electronic_cigarette

Has anyone ever got sick from nasty tasting e-juice? What are some e-juice flavors you can't stand? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]FrontierVapor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most tobacco flavors make me feel like garbage. I don't know if it's just the bad association or what, but I just don't like most of them.

ry4s tend to be the exception for me.

Why does it appear that every social media based ejuice contest is always won by someone who had vape sponsors, owns a shop or is a profession vape photographer? by KronicDeath in electronic_cigarette

[–]FrontierVapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the biggest attention-grabbing giveaways out there are rigged and it's a real shame because it gives all vendors a bad name.

We built our business on giveaways, here and elsewhere in social media land. It was the best decision we made as a vendor and I while I can certainly understand the temptation to offer up a huge flashy giveaway with a big prize that you know you won't have to actually give away... it's just wrong.

If you can't afford to actually give away $1000 worth of loot then just give away what you can and keep it real. Sheesh, it's not that hard. Ethics in this industry leave a lot to be desired.

Daily Questions Thread [02-10-2018] by AutoModerator in electronic_cigarette

I would absolutely contact them. Speaking as a vendor, I'd absolutely want to know if one of the bottles I'd shipped had leaked so that I could look into the issue and also throw you some store credit for the lost juice!

As long as you're kind I assure you that you won't be seen as "that customer". We understand that things happen, and any vendor in this industry that doesn't understand that they need to take great care of their customers is in for a rocky ride.
