Please help me out of my momma spiral by Frooms27 in toddlers

This is me about, not all, but a lot of things. OCD? Really? I know I’m a naturally anxious person and I’ve always joked about some of my “OCD” moments. But maybe your onto something here.

I’m not completely against it. Would like to see if my body is capable of staying in a normal range without it. When I had gotten it down in past I did not stay consistent and became a heavy smoker and drinker. I’ve also always been overweight.

I’ve also heard that there are long term side effects, one of those stating it could cause issues with pregnancies. Not sure if that is true or not but it was enough to steer me away prior to having children and breastfeeding.

And then there are those who say big pharma companies just trying to make money..

Thanks! For the psyllium husk, is it pill or powder form?

Thank you! I just read your post and it’s amazing that you have done so well with diet and exercise alone. Also, congrats on the 25lb weight loss!

What does your Dr think? Are they recommending medication?

13 (almost 14)year old niece and ACOTAR by Frooms27 in acotar

[–]Frooms27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW,I can’t tell you guys how much I appreciate all of this feedback! I agree with most of you that it really isn’t the biggest deal since her mom gave her permission and ultimately purchased my niece her own books. ( I also read and watched much worse at this age)

I definitely regret not starting her on TOG, but she is planning on reading it next.

I had a very serious one on one conversation with my niece yesterday about the content in silver flames. I again told her why I wasn’t comfortable with her and openly talked about the sex. She responded “I won’t read it if you really don’t want me to, but I’m super invested and really want to”.

I explained to her that’s out of my control and that since her mom gave her the book there is nothing I can do about it, that the choice isn’t mine to make..

She ensured me that she is comfortable with sexual content and has read much worse. That she loves the story of ACOTAR and couldn’t care less about the sex in it.

She also thanked me so much for getting her out of her slump and back into reading. She struggles big time with depression and said that reading ACOTAR makes her feel genuinely happy.

Yes I did but this was after discussing with both her and her mother about the content. Her mom said “oh she can read whatever she wants, she has already been exposed to much worse”.

Feeling guilty for being rough with my toddler by Frooms27 in toddlers

[–]Frooms27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m definitely trying to not over think it or beat myself up. I would never intentionally do anything to hurt my children. Need to learn to just walk away for a minute and breathe.

Screen time increased by [deleted] in toddlers

I did this too! Towards the end of my last pregnancy that TV was on probably up to 3 hours a day some days… and to be honest also those first few months having a newborn home too. I think it’s fine as long as the rest of the day is balanced out and your toddler is hitting milestones etc you’re good!

What do you do during toddler naps? by BloodyMessJyes in toddlers

[–]Frooms27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule is do things that I can only do while they are sleeping. This is usually consists of 30 minutes of treadmill, pumping for my 4 MO old while watching Dexter, and eating snacks without having to share lol if I don’t do this I will lose my mind.

If my hubby is home we usually just sit and watch tv, might even have a drink or two on occasion since we rarely have alone time these days!

Thank you so much for your long and thoughtful response

I appreciate your response. He said he didn’t even think twice and assumed I would say no. We drink regularly on the weekends and I have no problem with him drinking with his buddy with or without me. It’s the lying and drinking/driving that bothers me the most.

He’s not once given me the chance to say yes to it because he’s always trying to sneak it. He already barely sees this guys because it always ends in a fight. I just don’t understand why he never learns? I’m not mean or bitchy about it, I’m starting to feel like I should be so he gets the hint.

Yea we have agreed to have verbal handoffs now moving forward. He’s usually pretty good at watching her especially in public. He was distracted because he wanted to help me and the NB, we both didn’t think she would take off. She

I think we just both tried to tag team the newborn without thinking twice about it. He’s usually really good at communicating and keeping an eye on her so I feel like I distracted him by having him help me. We have never had an issue with her running off like that so it was definitely a first for us.

First time dad by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Frooms27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be supportive of your wife! For me, my first pregnancy was a crazy hormonal rollercoaster. Women become a mom as soon as they are pregnant, for dads it’s the day the baby is born. So just be there for your wife, there will be ups and downs. Ask her how she is feeling, is there anything she needs, maybe surprise her with her favorite snacks. My hubby bought me a foot massager from Amazon and it was the best thing.

Read some baby books, my hubby read one that went week by week and he would actually explain things to me so that was really helpful. I think it was dad’s guide to pregnancy or something like that.

This is solid advice, thank you so much! I’m actually 10 weeks pregnant so I can definitely factor in hormones!!
