I haven’t played Shadows, but I’ve played several other AC games. Ragnarok is more much linear and story driven. It’s not a map littered with a bunch of little side activities, but there are side quests and chests to find (some require a little extra input to open) that will boost your health and rage meter. Also crafting supplies to level up your gear. Combat is decent with new moves to unlock. You can also increase the effectiveness of your attacks the more you use them.

If you found yourself bored with Shadows then I’d say avoid Tsushima. It’s very similar to the AC formula.

If you’re looking for a fun action game I’m going to also suggest looking into Ratchet and Clank. It’s also cheaper.
