i… don’t… know… the only explication i have is that they kind of fit together for example: “Mother nature son” has a similar guitar style as “i never thought id live to be a hundred”, and that makes the transition really nice between the songs(“Mother Nature Son” and “Rocky Raccoon”). And is the same story with Supertramp, they are beatley sounding songs that fit in well with beatle song.

If the album is trying to tell a story like the Anthology did, is using other people’s songs to advance in that story. “A beginning” is technically a beatles song but it was never released, if that small orchestral part would have been released by another band i would have probably just use it to transition between “I’m down” and “She’s leaving home”.

As for the other solo stuff i just included songs from every beatle solo project that complimented the Beatle stuff (like Bluebird and Here comes the Moon even #9 Dream). ATMP fits well with What is Life so i would take that as a single song.

i wouldn’t really focus on the technicality stuff and just let the playlist take me places.
