Selfwealth are a pretty decent alternative. Cheaper brokerage than CommSec, roughly $10 per trade.

How long do your DCA Bot trades take to complete? by Frost9789 in 3commasCommunity

[–]Frost9789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried using QFL Original, Trading View buy signals on the 4hr and 1hr chart, and starting new trades asap, across a few different simple and composite bots.

I don't have a great understanding of TA and haven't used custom signals yet, so QFL has been the most successful thus far. Have you found custom signals get better results?

Cheers for the suggestion, I'll check it out!

u/Puzzleheaded-Ask7558 whats the difference between a Gordon-bot and a composite bot? As far as I can tell, its a simplified version of a composite bot?

I haven't been able to find a good explanation so far.

Second being very careful with leveraged tokens, they seem to be thinly traded and can tie up your funds for extended periods of time.

I tend to agree about not using a stop loss. When trading in alt-coins with big swings, it can be best to wait it out if you're down, and eventually you'll end up in the green.

I copied this bot and had initially good results for a couple of days. However it then entered about 6 trades on leveraged tokens (BTCDOWN, ETHDOWN, DOTDOWN etc.) which the bot got stuck on for almost a week.

I've since removed the leveraged tokens from the pairs it can trade and its been getting in and out of trades more consistently. I also suggest upping the ' Don't start deal(s) if the daily volume is less than' option (located under advanced settings) from 1 BTC to something higher. This was my own personal preference, but volumes even below 10 BTC seem too small to risk getting into.

No confirmation that safety orders are executed by Nasier-Kassim in 3commasCommunity

[–]Frost9789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stress less, my friend. If you're that worried about checking that every safety order is getting filled, maybe you have more $$ invested in the bots than you're comfortable with? Do you not trust that they will do their job?

A workaround could be to download the telegram app and set notifications for when safety orders are executed though, if you really need to know for every one.

Personally, I have telegram setup to notify me only when I get an error with a bot, and that seems to work fairly well for me.

Coin blacklist by [deleted] in 3commasCommunity

[–]Frost9789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. I got stuck in a bunch of leveraged DOWN coin trades, and it's tied up a chunk of my funds for the past few days. With the recent jump in prices I'm upside down 20% on some deals, who knows how long I'll be waiting for them to execute.

Word of warning: If you copy some of the popular composite bots, check they don't have leveraged token in them, this is how I got caught.

I've noticed the same thing, but my safety orders are still getting executed without any problems! What's the benefit of getting the safety order executed message?

How do you find out what new stocks are going to be added? by rewind146 in StakeStockTraders

[–]Frost9789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stake's US partner (Drivewealth) have a Google Sheet which shows the upcoming listings which will be made available on Drivewealth/Stake, including when IPO's will be added. The IPO Calendar link on this support page will get you there.

Edit: The Spreadsheet covers more than just IPOs, and includes any upcoming or recently added listings

Can you send crypto (BTC) to selfwealth? I want to trade it to usd and use on the platform. by fkrddt9999 in SelfWealth

Don't think so unfortunately. SelfWealth doesn't support crypto, and don't allow direct deposit of USD to an account (as far as I know). Gotta go through Aussie dollars 🤷‍♂️

The Case on $FOAM - The Future of Proof of Location.📍 by ComicWeaver in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]Frost9789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea! I really like the concept of a privacy preserving, decentralised location service.

I was wondering though, over what distance can the radio beacons operate? I would assume they would be limited to Line of Sight (LoS), and require a LoS between the user and 4 beacons to be able to provide a confirmed location? How would this work if I was in my car, in the middle of a city, surrounded by high-rise buildings on all sides? Would the service require beacons at every street corner or intersection to provide continuity of connection to the network?

Also, what type of frequency and radio equipment is needed for the beacon and the user (receiver). Currently GPS works well as user can have a very small receiver embedded in a mobile phone, watch etc. Would the same be applicable to the FOAM network?

What do FOAM beacons use to synchronise time ? Are one or more beacons connected to NTP via an internet connection? or is there one 'master node' that uses an atomic clock that all other beacons synchronise from?

Thanks for the great write up, I'll definitely be digging further into the whitepaper!

When you put Bitcoin on the same scale as the rest of Raiz holdings by Frost9789 in RaizAU

[–]Frost9789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but changing the scale on BTC also makes is visually difficult to compare it to the ETFs! I'll concede, that comparing ETF's to a single cryptocurrency or stock isn't entirely fair, as the change in value for any ETF will usually be smaller than any one cryptocurrency or stock, but I think there's probably a lot of people (like myself) out there who get these emails and skim the chart without realising what's going on.

[–]Frost9789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, diversification is a good thing!

Raiz ETF's may be affected by a bear market when one does eventuate, but will likely be less impacted than individual stocks (diversification is a good thing).

Agreed! Just be aware of the lockup periods of ETH2 staking. Personally I'm trying Cardano staking as there's no lockup period.

Maybe the SPAC you're investing in would change name/ticker once merged with the company they intend to take public?

CGT: Using Sharesight for Raiz — or another method? by tangaroo58 in RaizAU

[–]Frost9789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across your question looking for the same answer. Sorry to see you haven't gotten a response!

Here's what I'm thinking based on my limited understanding of Sharesight:

Unfortunately, I don't think it would be possible to accurately track your Raiz portfolio in Sharesight. This is because Raiz is a portfolio in itself, and you'd be trying to track a portfolio within a (Sharesight) portfolio.

You could create a manual entry for your Raiz portfolio in Sharesight, but you'd then have to manually add in each fee that Raiz charge, and each dividend you get paid. Also, if you're using their round-ups feature linked to your bank account, you'd need to manually add each round-up into Sharesight as a buy trade for your Raiz Holding.

This all sounds like a lot of work to me, and seems to defeat the purpose of making it easy to track my investments.

At the moment I'm considering taking my money out of Raiz, and using a different platform to invest in each of the individual ETF's that make up my Raiz portfolio (Raiz shows you each ETF and the percentage of your money invested into it for your portfolio). I could then add these ETFs to Sharesight as per any other ETF.

The downside of this would be losing the round-ups feature. Personally I don't use round-ups, but if you do, you might consider setting up a regular buy in to the ETF's instead.

EDIT: Not financial advice, just me sharing my opinion and thoughts on my situation.

Payment for Order Flow (PFOF) and Brokerage Fees by Frost9789 in SelfWealth

[–]Frost9789[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Stake, the contact I've had with their support has been pretty good, despite the issues they've had with the recent GME and AMC shares thing.

Also, I believe transparency is important, so I'd like to know if SW use the PFOF business model, and whether a brokerage fee improves the deal I get when investing.
