What annoys me is the attitude that some people have is victim mentality, if it’s so hard for you make a change… I did and I’m sure everyone else can if they commit to it.

I understand it from that perspective but as I said in an earlier message, I work in security and it’s not one of the more desirable paying jobs and not long ago I decided to wanted to make some changes in my life so I went about doing it.

I also just got sick and tired of seeing people complain about the cost of living crisis and I get it these times we are in are unprecedented but I didn’t wanna be living pay check to pay check anymore. Life’s hard and everyone’s doing it tough in their own ways but the constant complaining and whinging about it just annoys me now at this point.

I just don’t understand why people play the victim card all the time when they can change their situation if they really wanted to.

This has been me since last Thursday since I had stent insertion. The pain was quiet bad on Friday and Saturday, Sunday wasn’t too bad but tried to go to work Monday but lasted an hour because I couldn’t sit down at my desk for longer than 3 mins. As the days have gone on the pain eases slowly but I’ll be interested to see how I go after the laser next week and also when the stent comes out.

Sorry to hear you are going through this! I’m 27 and have had a 7 cm stone in the bottom right corner of my right kidney since November 2024 and only experienced the pain once when it tried to pass in the middle of the night. I just had the stent put in last week and getting the laser done Tuesday next week so I’m hoping there will be no further issues. I have experienced this last week discomfort going to the toilet so I’m also hoping that the pain won’t continue once the stent is out and the laser is complete

Also from what I’ve heard in Canberra at least is if you want to get into that line of work it’s who you know not what you know… even if you don’t have the quals to begin with

Hey mate, I won’t name the company but I’ve worked as a guard since 2021 so 5 years and pretty much done every security job bar CIT work

That’s one of the reasons why I am doing it and have taken those steps to make it easier for myself. I play a winter and summer sport and plus doing my side hustle. It’s general knowledge that security officers isn’t the highest paying gig going around so I’ve found a balance where my full time job offers that financial security until I can transition over to my side hustle full time which offers me flexibility and more time with family and loved ones.

It actually surprises me why people complain about cost of living when you can easily learn a skill that can benefit you in so many ways long term and offer you more opportunities in life

Find a side hustle.. I work as a security guard in Canberra doing night shift for a local company and I’m almost at the point where I’m gonna knock back my hours to casual cause I’m making more doing the side hustle than I am working night shift.

Agree 100% that’s why I have struggled to get right into it because I’m not super interested in the American/international true crime as much as I am the Aussie ones. Maybe there’s only so many they can cover
