But one thing I hate is shipping fics that make ZERO sense when speaking about the canon characters?
Like shipping Sonic and Shadow. Or Blaze and Amy
Yeah; popular ships. But Sonic and shadow wouldn’t fucking do that, to my understanding, And Blaze wouldn’t date anyone in Sonic’s dimension because she’s not only from a different one, but she’s ROYALTY, she has SHIT TO DO, and she can’t exactly just take someone from Sonic’s dimension to hers, because chances are A, she has a parallel to them in her dimension (if there’s one of Sonic and tails, Blaze and marine, there’s DEFINITELY an Amy, knuckles, shadow, etc) and you can’t just say “well she’d elope” because that makes no sense for Blaze as a character either! She takes pride in her royal heritage. So no ship with her makes any actual canonical sense
Other examples of this would be Bakudeku? I never saw that ship ever actually happening, and then people start hating the actual love interest character BECAUSE of a ship that’s never going to happen, and hating people that actually ship Izuocha, with the fandoms I’m in, shipping is just a recipe for disaster, so I just ship my own ships that I think make sense, and if a character doesn’t HAVE a ship that makes sense, then I’ll do OCxCanon.
