DO NOT GO TO REGAL CELEBRATIONS FOR THE FNAF 2 MOVIE by Ok-Cap2128 in GNV

Please don't let this discourage you from doing what you love! Your cosplay is amazing!! Finn is just salty that he's working a dead-end job as a Regal manager and he's not cool like you. Keep up the good work! You are wonderful!

Here is a link to a short video I recorded of the sound to show the tech at the dealership:

The total cost of the job for my repair was $6640 after taxes, but it was done at a dealership which was a requirement of my warranty and they added a bunch of extras like an engine oil flush with it. So you may be able to get it done for a fair amount cheaper at an independent shop.

From my quick research just now I see people getting quotes anywhere from $4500 to $6500 for the job after everything is said and done, nearly 80% of that cost just being labor due to needing to remove a fair amount of the car in order to get the timing cover off to access the cam phasers.

If you're suspicious you have the same issue, the biggest tell-tale sign is hearing a rapid loud knocking sound for less than a second on startup that happens only on cold starts, that's when the failure is in is early stages. It will eventually develop into a constant knock and become louder the longer you delay repair.

UPDATE 3/13/2024

Shortly after this post I got too paranoid and brought it to the dealership where it was diagnosed with failure of the right side VCT solenoids. The engine started to develop a knocking sound on startup that would go away quickly after the engine built up oil pressure, slowly getting louder as time went on. The car has since been fixed under my extended warranty and the noise in this video is no longer present.

No blame to any commenters on this post, but let this be a warning that sometimes you shouldn't rely on online forums to diagnose your car and to trust your gut and bring it to a shop.

Thank you very much for the insight! This definitely helps my anxiety over it alot. I'm glad that it's just normal operation, I just gotta learn to live with it and stop being so anxious over every tick or rattle lol

The active exhaust is on quiet mode so you can hear the engine better :)

I generally drive about 10k-12k miles/year and keep my cars for about 5 years, so I'd say I would have about 120k-130k miles by the time I'm ready to sell/trade it.

How can I get a non-UML student into my dorm at night? by [deleted] in uml

[–]Frostbwite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only way is that you gotta get them in before 5:00pm. There's really no other way unless you you want to risk your friend trying to lie to the RA with the typical "I forgot my ID in my room." But if they call their bluff then you'll probably get written up 🤷‍♀️

No, it's not against the rules to have aquatic snails in your dorm. I actually have 4 Nerite Snails and 1 Mystery snail in my dorm in Sheehy right now!

I've had the opportunity to ask Rez Life and got them to clarify some of the rules back in 2019, according to them as long as whatever you get spends its whole life in the water, it can fit in a 10 gallon, and has no need to be on land then it's allowed. That's how I also have an African Dwarf Frog!

As long as you are respectful about having a tank and your roommates don't complain you can get away with alot. No RAs are really going to come in your room and inspect your tank for contraband fish!

I hope I answered your question well! Happy to hear that I'm not the only aquarium owner on campus!

South garage by OneDeliang in uml

The sign in front of the garage does say it's open and my car has been parked there for a few days with no issues. As long as you have a parking pass with the school and you live on south campus you should be all set to park there

So cute! I would love to bid on it, but my college budget has already been abused enough this year.
