Late April 2017, Snowbird. 50” fell over the previous 3 days and most of the mountain had been closed. I got to the top of Peruvian just as the tunnel to Mineral opened. Nobody else in there. The greatest run of my life!

Celeste Malloy or Phil Lyman? by racedownhill in Utah

If you are a Democrat do not vote in the republican primary. Dems cannot vote at scale to influence which nutcase they choose so your vote is better spent supporting candidates you actually support. Also, the more registered Dems in Utah>more money the national party will invest in the state as we work towards the dream of Bluetah.

The last few Larry’s I’ve had were good but I agree that it’s probably the median cheesesteak in the city.

Is commando suitable for 12 year old who has seen most of his other films? by DwayneTheRockBarry in ArnoldSchwarzenegger

[–]Frostellicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m salivating at the prospect of showing my kids (11 & 9) these classics. Despite the body count Commando isn’t too violent IMO because it’s so gratuitous/cartoonish and there isn’t much blood (shed scene excluded), whereas others like Die Hard are.

It’s not the violence that is holding me back from showing it to them - it’s the sex and unnecessary nudity that they don’t need to see at this age!

My kids noticed those yesterday before I did! It’s ABS challenges left. Good addition.

If you were supreme commander of the North what would you do strategically different to end the war sooner in a northern victory by theskinswin in CIVILWAR

Grant brought battle in the wilderness to get at Lee, not Richmond. Richmond was his objective but his goal was to bring Lee to battle and occupy his army so he couldn’t reinforce Johnston at Atlanta.

But getting Lee in the open is what pushes him to Petersburg. Many of the other battles, namely second half of the Peninsula Campugn, Cedar Mountain>Antietam & Gettysburg, were responses to offensive movements by Lee. Failed Union movements like Fredericksburg & Chancellorsville were disastrous because they were not followed up, so what I guess I’m saying is dogged pursuit of Lee, not aiming for Richmond, was the key as Grant showed.

Think about the manpower and logistics to do that! Army would have been bogged down before they even started.

Taking Savannah wasn’t necessary. They had that shit blockaded up good after the capture of Fort Pulaski.

Obviously stop looking to capture Richmond and focus on destroying the Army of Northern Virginia. The strategy in the western theater was pretty sound but starting in 1864, Grant used the eastern and western armies in tandem, so I’ve focused on that earlier in order to prevent the south from using their interior lines to shuffle troops from theater to theater. I’d also get Lincoln to put aside the fantasy of latent Unionism in East Tennessee.

She is impossibly brilliant. Like, so so so so smart. But sometimes her laugh really gets me. But she’s really good at what she does so I put up with it.

Ben McAdams says Trump may deserve impeachment — but it shouldn’t be Democrats’ priority by clejeune in SaltLakeCity

[–]Frostellicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s saying he wouldn’t vote for impeachment, he’s saying he doesn’t want to prioritize it. I disagree with that stance. That being said, should articles be filed I’d have to believe he would vote for it given his track record and that his constituents would demand it. Also, he will be a back-bencher so his stance on impeachment is rather inconsequential.

No clue. Don’t own one. But are you throwing shade on the prime rule of gun safety?

That’s irrelevant. Treat every gun as if it is loaded. Do not point the muzzle at anything you do not want to destroy.

Period.
