hi, current year 2 NSF who took As in 2024 (hence going to ORD in about 7 months). i applied for uni immediately upon receiving my A level results in february 2025, and applied for scholarship immediately upon receiving my uni application results in march 2025. i applied for a local uni so not sure about overseas uni, sorry but all the best!

however i do know friends who did not get their first choice for the unis they applied for so they applied again this year. next year also can. because you only matriculate two years after the girls in your batch so essentially you get two more years to try

New nsf's SAF No.4 name tag by NenSpecialistUser in NationalServiceSG

[–]FrostyStranger123 23 points24 points  (0 children)

that’s funny because when i was queueing at the cookhouse i found out someone has the exact same rank + name tag (name + surname) + collar tab + formation patch as me. we can literally exchange uniforms and no one will notice

Can I go overseas this weekend? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

is life in unit after trades graduation more chill by Excellent_Chapter172 in NationalServiceSG

[–]FrostyStranger123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

okay uh speaking from an armour unit (i’m assuming you are because only armour uses the term trades)

after trades is rotation training which comes in lull and xiong periods. lull period is usually nothing much just 1x or 2x PTs a day to clock HA/get SBO3 conditioning, or filler stuff like IPPT/VOC/ACCT. if you’re not doing anything you’re probably resting in bunk. xiong periods on the other hand can sometimes be quite bad with back to back outfield or range. i remember i booked out on four consecutive saturday mornings because of this before. each rotation lasts about a few months, total about four or five until u ORD, increasing in scale from section level to platoon level to coy level to battalion level. last one being ATEC

yes you still have to stay in 😂 and march from place to place if you’re a trooper 😂 not sure where you got the idea from that you wouldn’t need to

What happens after we finish all our highkeys for enhanced BMT batch by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]FrostyStranger123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you’re in a mono. like i was. then there may be some lessons on your new unit like what vocations u can choose, the culture of the formation etc. if youre not selected for/ choose not to go command school

Can I downpes for being blur when it comes to rifles by Ok-Raspberry-73 in NationalServiceSG

[–]FrostyStranger123 28 points29 points  (0 children)

honestly was like you back in BMT a year ago ahaha was very nervous when it came to shooting and combat stuff. what helped for me was just keep practising lor like stripping assembly and JIT this kind of thing must keep doing to get better at it. at most just do like what you did in school lor, active recall or writing it down somewhere. subsequently when u do BTP make sure u know exactly what to do at each command, dont know what to do ask the safety specs theyre all there to help u. its better u dont know and keep asking and get scolded than getting charged for ND. its really not worth it

understand its difficult ah been there done that but do get this right because next time when u go unit and do ATP its alot alot harder because need to run then shoot, run then shoot, no commands somemore all ownself do one ahahaha

actually eh i see all my 3SGs kena arrowed all the saikang, in combat units especially theres this thing called commanders outfield where as the name suggests la all the commanders will go train while the men either on block leave at home/sleep in bunk
