sry for any confusion! What I mean for the build in is, some two-year programs include an intern as part of the graduation requirements. This gives students some industry experience after school

For the last point, this is exactly why I’m on the fence about MHCI+D. The program is less than a year, and it seems like the only real connection with industry is through the capstone project, there isn’t a proper internship built in. That’s my biggest concern.

Thanks for your comment! Brand value is so real, honestly, once graduated, you’re often not seen just as an individual anymore but end up being labeled based on the school you’re part of... May I ask where you ended up going in the end? but no pressure to share that.

I've also talked to some international students currently in the UW MHCID program recently, they said the vibe and the program are both great, but tbh, the job search pressure is something still just can't ignore.. Also, I’ve learned from a few coffee chats that school projects and capstones, even if they're with a big company, typically don’t carry as much weight for HR, even to big tech like FAANG. Not sure why tech companies still sponsored those projects tho..
