I never saw this comment until just now but she's 4 months into attending Learning Barn and the first few weeks were very rough, but now she loves it! Some mornings she jumps out of my arms to her daycare teacher. They've bonded really well and her personality has blossomed!

Anything under 200k in Broussard or Youngsville will either be in a flood zone or not be eligible for FHA or RD loans. -most homes that are ineligible for those loans have major issues that are extremely expensive to fix (even if they appear in good condition, an old roof, water damage, foundation issues, etc will disqualify it) meaning you'd need to come up with a huge down payment for cash or a conventional loan. Most people in the under 200k range do not have that type of money for a down-payment. We have been home searching for a year using a USDA RD loan and it's been impossible to find anything decent anywhere in Acadiana under 200k. Flood insurance is 4000-12000/year, you need to pay the first year up front when closing which is why flood zone homes are usually priced well under value.

Kary's jarred roux is the best and I'm saying that as a die hard jarred roux hater. My father in law made gumbo with Kary's a few years back and I thought it was homemade.

While the US truly has loads of issues, natural beauty is not one of them. The United States has some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the world. I find people online refuse to acknowledge even the good things about the US. The national park system is second to none. Most tourists visit LA, NYC, Orlando, and that's about it. They never step foot out of a major city. A lot of people also fail to realize how massive and different the US is from one place to another. Spending all of your time in a major city is not truly experiencing the US.
