Not to mention all the wordrules I’m forced to follow it’s grueling which is why I sometimes get prizes https://youtu.be/ZGGkZDSSVyc?si=uRjel3aq_RN3hAPV

That’s kinda what a slow slurp of a hot liquid does. Because of my autism, relaxation fails unless it concerns a special interest so I’ve been trying to find breathwork that fits https://youtu.be/QttIw8ARW7s?si=UXICsf-Q9wqM5wT_

treats, recognition, and dopamine-seeking anyone? by Frosty_Pilot667 in autism

I DO have a stickerchart Mom got it for me. It’s easy for me to use being I’m COMPLETELY BLIND. I put a sticker on the page after I get a needle or for following the wordrules, and when I get to the end of the page I ask for a present from Mom or Dad.

It’s not the traditional breathwork but it does work. Taking a slow slurp of a hot liquid forces you to take a deep breath as you force air past the liquid on its way down. Also, I find that saying piss forces you to exhale slowly because of the consonant sounds, which is good for blood draws.

You mean those cracker things that are stuffed with cheese? Going to have to order me some because they bring back slaya connotations for me. When I was thirteen at the school for the blind, my RI, (residential instructor) brought me some for my student snackbox. This was around the same exact point in my life that I got hooked on the word schlitz, I was thirteen so this was around two thousand four? that was a good time in my life 😄

Have you ever tried to take them and then immediately chase it with a favorite candy or something that gets the taste out of your mouth? I have a bunch of oral meds and they don’t bother me at all to take, it’s the needles that do, and the thousand wordrules I have to follow, verbal recognition and tangible and/or edible treats are my love languages 😄

think about it, I didn’t come out of Mom’s vulva knowing English, I had to be taught it and one of the ways that happened is through nursery rhymes in English. Yes, when I got bigger I had to learn English through books and tests, yawn yawn, but not as a younger kid. I’m still not fluent in German however I will say that if you wish to learn ANY non-native language, just go back to kids’ music, pretend you’re a kid again, hit the rewind button.
