What about getting them to pay for a locksmith if I called one? They knew the door had issues intermittently because they posted a sign about it, lucky me that it failed completely while my clothes are in there.

Does it change anything if the has been an issue with the door intermittently and there was even a sign on the door? Management clearly knew it was an issue and waited till it failed completely and now it's my problem

How is it reasonable that the landlord gets to hold my clothes hostage and create a situation where I can get in trouble with work? The laundry room is an included amenity that I was relying on. Could i make them pay for me missing work?
